History
Established in 1935.
David Josephson, founder and namesake of the company, first became known for his pioneering fitting in the early stages of hard contact lenses, and was the first Ontario Optician to travel the globe to bring Toronto fashion-forward eyewear. Widespread praise from Ophthalmologists, Optometrists and clients alike for quality workmanship and technical knowledge set Josephson’s apart. That praise, coupled with a passion for finding new and unseen styles quickly made Josephson a leader in quality, fit and performance. Joined by his wife Merryl, who provided savvy and charisma to Josephson’s expertise, the pair travelled to New York and Europe seeking out the latest trends and most unique frames around. More than 75 years later, Josephson Opticians success continues to be built on their unwavering commitment to world-quality products, the most advanced technical optical lenses, and unparalleled customer service.
