InterContinental Toronto Centre Hotel

The moderninity stood still in the non-​functional lobby.
Absolutely beautiful presentation, with no touches. Rooms without Internet for $ 300. Not good enough.

I thought this was a nice place, right downtown, near the ballpark, rooms were nice. I didn’t like the parking fee but it’s in the city so somewhat expected. Had the breakfast buffet one morning and that was good and not too expensive.

Very nice hotel located in the heart of it all Toronto. Staff was incredibly pleasant and the bar area actually had a nice atrium feel to it by way of the large glass ceiling and structure.
The rooms were very clean and spacious. This hotel appears to entertain some rather large meetings as it had an entire level dedicated to ballrooms and conference rooms for use. The only drawbacks I had were the lack of a small fridge and the lack of outlets and or updated electronics.
Unsure about parking here as I didn’t have a car during my stay.

We stayed at the InterContinental for a conference in Toronto and were pleasantly surprised!
Pros:
modern décor
clean, larger than normal room sizes
comfortable bed
decent gym (open 24 hours) and swimming pool
connected to the Toronto convention center
great service from all staff (easy check in and out)
comfy robe and slippers in the room
easy access to the train and restaurants
**I flew in on a red eye and they let me check in early into my room at 7 AM! The only hotel so far that I know provides this type of courtesy and accommodations to their guests.
**Tip: If you want free WIFI, join and become a IHG hotel member online before your check in. It’s free membership!
If you are in the downtown area, especially for a conference, InterContinental is the place to stay!

Stayed here for my birthday and would definitely recommend it! I ended up getting a great deal on HotWire, so look around before booking as you can usually score a deal.
Beautiful, modern and clean rooms, and I loved the pool! The only complaint I have is that they charge for wi-​fi!

Our stay here started out great — the lobby looked very nice and front desk was very good. It wasn’t until we arrived in our room however that we started to notice things were somewhat off. Immediately we noticed damaged lamp shades, and the curtains were extremely hard to adjust.
We then started to settle in and began noticing other things — there were no slippers, not a single bath robe to be found and not even a mini-​fridge! A quick phone call to concierge sorted out the slippers and bath robes (which they acknowledged were supposed to be in the room), but still there was nowhere to put any leftover food from the restaurant.
We noticed a slight smell to the air in the room (a bit like mould) but didn’t think much of it. The next morning however, we woke up with terribly sore throats and we both felt under the weather. This was just the icing on the cake for our experience.
All in all, the staff was very friendly and accommodated our requests as much as they could, but ultimately management really needs to reevaluate the entire customer’s experience from beginning to end and ensure they provide a complete experience.

This was my 2^nd time staying at this hotel and it was yet another enjoyable experience. All the staff are incredibly friendly and go out of your way to make the stay a great one.
Pros:
— Clean
— Comfy king bed with 4 big pillows
— I was able to check in early (7am my room was ready!)
— Nail file, cotton pads, q-​tips, shower cap, etc in bathroom. After breaking a nail while I was there, the nail file was incredibly useful!
— The room service came in 20 minutes and the pizza was hot and tasty. Room service is 3.50 plus tax and a 15 percent surcharge is added.
Cons:
— no robe… Fairmont had a cozy robe which is a nice plus after a long day!
— no outlets near bed. Not great for charging your smart phone.
— wifi costs extra (free for rbc employees and rewards members).
— I wasn’t able to get into the mini bar fridge which i wanted to store my water and fruit in.
If it is winter and you want to use the underground path, note that you do need to walk across the street to simcoe place.
All in all a pleasant stay!

Definitely not a four star hotel; great service but old rooms.
Firstly, I have to say that this is definitely not what we’d expect from a four diamond hotel in terms of the actual hotel product. We are currently staying in the InterContinental for a couple’s getaway.
I have to say, the staff are definitely outstanding. We had a quick and courteous check-​in although I was surprised to hear that half the hotel is closed.
We have been given a room on the 11^th floor with a view of the lake and CN Tower (see pics). The bed is really comfortable and there are the usual elements you’d expect from a hotel room at any star level (eg. iron [which doesn’t work], tv, coffee maker, desk).
Unfortunately, the age of this hotel definitely shows. There are many old elements in the halls and the rooms: scratches on the doors (occasionally painted with different coloured paint), worn down areas in the bathroom and bedroom, a very old and small tub, scratchy towels and old bathrobes. I’ve posted a few pics.
I’m not unreasonable; I understand that any hotel would show its constant use. I used to stay in hotels very often but life’s changed over the past two years with kids; this is not at all what we were expecting when we booked.
Much closer to a two or three star in terms of the way the hotel looks and feels.

The service here is unparallelled. For this reason I make it my number one choice when staying in Toronto. The doorman are the nicest guys, and always remember my name when I arrive. The hotel is clean, and they have recently renovated the higher floors. If you stay here, make sure to request these new rooms as they are super modern and clean. I have stayed here probably around 50 nights in the past 2 years and choose this hotel for its great value and hospitality/​service.

Hair in the bed sheets and generally dismissive service. After night ¼ of our stay, the front desk assumed we had checked out and voided our room key. Later that night, a man was double booked in our room and spent 2am-​3am knocking on our door. When I called the front desk, they refused to own their mistake and wrote it off that the man must have been «drunk or confused». Offered no help and at this point still am up in the air as to whether they will screw up my appointment for the third straight night tomorrow. Room is very nice, but have consistently gotten replacement sheets with hair on them. I had very high hopes but has thus far been thoroughly disappointing.

I was originally skeptical to stay here but it was very enjoyable! I didn’t get the king bed that i wanted but they were sold out because of the IAC conference. The was very spacious and modern and check in was so simple. The fitness room was ok with weights, treadmills and ellipticals. The room was decent butt i hear there are some renos being done on some rooms. My view was east so i overlooked the go trains. But the beds were awesome! Very comfy and plush. Housekeeping staff were excellent. Enough restaurants around — Chinatown is a 10 minute walk away. Eaton Centre is about 15 minutes. Very close to the Blue Jays and Leafs venues.
Free WiFi when you are a member to their loyalty program.

Absolutely the worst service I’ve had while attempting to get a hotel room. Due to them being unable to honour my reservation I was immediately upgraded to a «better» room.
Edit: Side-​note: this reservation was made at least 6 months ago.
This better room is not renovated. I’m sure the bathroom hasn’t been upgraded in many years. There’s no spare power jacks even on the desk. This «better» room is supposed to have a great view of the water front as well as the CN tower, instead I get shafted, literally, as I can’t see anything outside my window except the ground of the CN tower. Also, no water for miles unless you include possible tap water.
No rooms with two beds available, then was treated to a single king bed because me and my «partner», whom is obviously just a friend, would be comfortable, as well as getting $ 40 of wonderful coupons for the Spa.
So far? ⁰⁄₅
Game over to this hotel.

It’s Hard to Improve on Perfection
I am an IHG Ambassador member. Due to my status, I was upgraded to a 1BR Suite (room 925). This gave me access to the Club Lounge with free breakfast and soft drinks and many other amenities. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights for a vacation.
The room was wonderful. A whole King Room with a great view of the CN Tower, plus a «living room» that is really a smaller room converted to be a living room, with its own powder room. This gave us lots of space to spread out. The condition of the room was very good though it has a few signs of wear.
I’d like to lift up the concierge Charisse and the In-​Room Dining staff for their help in creating a romantic evening in our room for my wife and I. Everything was perfect!
I do have two things that I would change about the room. First, there are no usable outlets near the bed. As a person who uses his smartphone as his alarm clock, this was a problem. The provided iHome doesn’t work with an iPhone 5. Second, for the price of this room a refrigerator should be included (in addition to the paid mini bar). There is space for it in the bedroom furniture.
The hotel is very conveniently located to the conference center, the CN Tower, sports facilities, and many excellent restaurants. The PATH map indicates that the hotel should someday be connected.
When I return to Toronto (and I certainly will) I plan to stay here again!

This is a beautiful hotel. I’ve not had the opportunity to stay in any of the rooms overnight, but I have been here for several conferences. The hotel boasts a gorgeous lobby like no other. Staff is extremely helpful and will always greet as you walk in and out.
The Oakville Room which is located on a mezzanine off the lobby is much smaller, and for the lack of a good word, shabbier than the Ontario and Niagara rooms located in the ground floor. The ground floor is a great space for conferences and small conventions. The décor is more professional that the mezzanine space as well.

Tip: obtain or have the Holiday Inn /​IHG membership before checking in and your wifi will be free during your stay.
Beds a comfortable & rooms are really nice (spacious). I had a fantastic view of the CN tower. Literally right outside of my window.
I felt a little bad because when I arrived guys helped me out of the car, they took my luggage to my room (even though I told them it wasn’t necessary) and I had no way to tip them. I finally had to go find an ATM to pull out CAD since USD isn’t really helping them much.
No issues during check in or check out. Everyone I encountered seemed to love his/​her job. What I am trying to say is. they are all super friendly!
It’s a little further walk to office from this hotel but I will definitely stay here when I am in Toronto (which is often).

I stayed here three nights for a conference and was really impressed with this hotel.
Everything is modern and attractive. I asked for a room with a nice view and ended up on the top floor with a good look at the CN Tower and Lake Ontario. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The carpet in the room was soft and felt much better than typical hotel floors. The bed was extremely comfortable with a fluffy down blanket (I think it was down).
The gym was well-​appointed with tall ceilings. I didn’t get a chance to swim but poked my head in and it looked like a nice pool with a hot tub on the side. The pool is in the spa area which is well decorated and there was a friendly lady behind the counter who gave me a free razor.
I locked myself out of my room (first time ever, I swear) and I only had to wait about a minute for a friendly security person to let me in.
The only pet peeve I had was that you had to book an executive level room in order to get access to the lounge, regardless of your status with IHG. I got in on a Sunday night and wasn’t able to go to the lounge and there was nowhere in the hotel that I could grab some snacks or a bottle of water so they suggested I walk around the corner to a convenience store. Given how nice everything else is here, it’d be nice to have the option to grab something besides the $ 5 candy bars in the room.

I’m a fan of Intercontinental hotels and as an ambassador member of their rewards club you get some extra perks — such as being upgraded to a suite when you just booked a regular room (can’t complain).
Stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed them both. First off — my room itself was huge and had a nice view of downtown. Second, the other room in the suite had its own bathroom and a nice couch and eating area — it’s nice to not always be eating in your bedroom after a long day working.
I ordered room service two separate times — the first time I ordered a pizza and got a salad instead (something I didn’t notice until they had left the room). I called up, they immediately apologized, comped my whole meal, I had a pizza within 15 or so minutes (yes, I got to keep the salad).
Checkin/​out was fast and easy, and I think the location is great considering where I work when I’m in town (nearby, in Toronto).
Certainly not up to the 5-​star hotel levels you’ll find elsewhere, and I’m glad they’re renovating all the guest suites (this was just starting when I got there) because I can see a lot of the things in this hotel starting to wear.

First timer here and Eugene upgrades me to the top floor with a killer view! Breakfast buffet too!
Great pool and steam bath. Ahhhh…

We were in Canada for the first time celebrating our anniversary and purchased the Romance Package with our room which was a little more than $ 500 for one night.
The Romance Package came with: dinner in the hotel restaurant called Azure, breakfast in bed, a gift basket that had chocolates and a Bath and Body Works shower gel and lotion, and free valet.
We were in an Executive Club Level room which gave us access to the lounge that had continental breakfast, afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches, and evening hors d’oeuvres. Non alcoholic drinks were free and alcohol could be charged to your room. These treats were a nice touch throughout the day. Club level also had free internet.
Our room was clean and nicely decorated but I found it odd that even though we spent $ 500 for one night, we had a small bathroom with standard shower and fabric curtain and one sink. At that price it’s the norm to have a larger bathroom with glass enclosed shower, separate tub, and dual sinks. There was a safe in the room and a fridge stocked with items you have to pay for and the AC was silent. The large, flat screen TV was nice and the room had two robes and slippers. We never heard any city noise from outside our window but we heard noise from the hallway because the people in the room across us were practically yelling every time they were in the hall.
Our package included dinner at Azure and we got to choose a starter, entrée, and dessert. The food was great but service was incredibly slow. We never got drink refills and our bread basket was brought out very late. We noticed all the tables around us had the same slow service but no one was bothered by it. It’s probably just that we (Americans) are accustomed to quick restaurant service.
Breakfast in bed arrived quickly but I was a little disappointed that the romance package only included the Canadian Breakfast which was eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, and a fruit cup. It tasted good but I had initially planned on ordering different things from their breakfast menu.
The indoor pool was heated and really clean. There were only 4 lounge chairs and 3 regular chairs that were all occupied so we had nowhere to sit or put our stuff. The pool restrooms had a steam room, showers, hair dryers, and lockers. The gym was very spacious with a nice selection of machines and weights. I was surprised that the hotel didn’t have a small store with snacks, medicines, and toiletries. I needed some advil and the only place to get it was at concierge.
We really enjoyed our stay and the combination of the romance package and lounge were nice extras but for future trips will probably try some of the other luxury hotels in the area.

Conveniently located next door to the Toronto Convention Centre, the InterContinental is great for business travelers attending a trade show. The hotel staff is welcoming, attentive, and very helpful. Loved the ability to print boarding passes at the registration desk!
Bus alas, I’ve stayed at better InterContinental properties for less money. My interior room overlooked the pool, so I had to deal with the faint smell of chlorine, as well as pool attendants coming and going all day and night. Worst was the alarm that went off at 10:25 PM and continued for thirty minutes, even though the recorded voice with the alarm said not to evacuate.
Also, $ 13.95 /​night for WiFi?
