The place is clearly a family business — unfortunately, this particular family has no members who have an idea on how to perform the services offered or actually run a service business(well, they are probably skilled at henna as suggested by their name, but iHenna is being marketed as a spa). There is a single girl there who is a trained esthetician(the only one not part of the family), and I lucked out to get her for my mani/pedi… the only reason the place gets 2 stars instead of 1. She was actually OK, but clearly over-worked and doing as best she can with the limited resources, such as lack of running hot water(as a previous, for some reason filtered, reviewer noted — thought it was a temporary maintenance issue with a single pedicure station at the time) and not great quality base/top coats(I brought my favourite OPI colour but iHenna selection was limited and not OPI/Essie etc). Now on to the negatives: –I had an appointment but ended up waiting for almost 2HOURS past scheduled time. The patriarch and only man at the reception seemed unfazed and unapologetic. –While waiting, a lady had her eyebrows threaded and ended up with one much thinner than requested, and it took half an hour to fix. –The other ladies working there kept interrupting my esthetician to ask her where certain tools are, how to do certain things etc… apparently the training of most staff can be described as very basic at best. –The family lives either upstairs, downstairs or both but entry doors are right in the middle of salon, making for very distracting movement of people at all times. –Don’t bother getting facials there — the products on display were of the cheap drugstore variety. In short, just go elsewhere as you will most likely be disappointed.
