Super impressed with this exhibit. Something for everyone. I highly recommend a stop here to satisfy your hockey fix or if you are just happen to be in town. Guarantee you will learn something.

A must visit for any hockey fanatic… admission is only CAD$ 18 and you can easily spend hours in here. The museum is perfectly laid out and even has interactive stuff you can play with… of course, you must visit the Stanley Cup when it’s there — you can even touch it! Seeing my team engraved on the Cup in person was my favorite part! :D

as a hockey fan I totally love this place! first time here and it was remarkable.
I had the false misconception that it was only NHL players but they have honoured so many different players both men and women.
make sure you take a good 2 – 3 hours go spend there, there’s an awesome 3D movie and you’re able to take shots at a goalie and have shots fired at you.
You get to see all the trophies cased up, the original stanly cup and the one for fans to take pictures with too.
There’s a lot of history here and here replica Canadians dressing room is really cool too.

If you love hockey, this museum is worth a trip to Toronto. Admission isn’t outrageous, and it includes stuff other museums might charge extra for, like 3D movies and interactive video game exhibits. There’s something for all ages. Kids just getting into the game will enjoy displays for the current teams as well as some highlighting the all time greats of the sport, while adults will find loads of information on the history of the game and some lesser known stars. There’s a replica Montréal Canadiens locker room to visit, and people of all ages can grab a stick or pads and try their hand at goaltending or scoring. Upstairs is a very solemn trophy room where you can see all the famous awards of the NHL up close. The entrance to the Hall of Fame is on the lower level of the building, at the end of a food court. If you don’t know where you’re going, you can miss it.

A must-​visit for any hockey fan. Most of the museum is filled with player memorabilia and stories attached to them. There is an interactive zone which is pretty fun, people taking shots and blocking them from a computer screen. It’s all fine and loses some sheen until you get to the trophy room with all of the famous trophies headlined by the Stanley Cup. You can touch it as much as you want, which is pretty wild.
I would only recommend to hockey fans b/​c if you bring someone not interested in sports or even hockey, they will almost definitely get bored and ask to leave early. I went myself and spent about an hour and a half.

I’m not a big hockey fan but as the saying goes… when in Canada, do as the Canadians do… from the outside, it seemed big but it really wasn’t (NBA HOF is bigger and better). Of course, the major stars of the game had large displays. However, some of the inductees were in a dark corner with basically just a plaque. Guess they weren’t too important to the game. There are a few interactive games… In the game where you try to score a goal against the video goalie, you’re not allowed to slapshot which is silly. It was actually pretty difficult to get one by the goalie so that took away from some of the fun (recommend trying Easy level). Then there’s the ESPN Sportscenter studio where you try your hand at being a sportscaster and reading the teleprompter. That was cool. Afterwards, you can email yourself the video. Would’ve been nice if they had a suit jacket you can put on so you’d look more official. :) There’s trivia, which was also quite difficult unless you’re a hockey buff and know its history pretty well. They also have the old school dome hockey game. You might have to wait 5 – 10 minute to play any of them.
The majestic room where they house the Stanley Cups is nice. Little known fact, there are actually three Stanley Cups. The original and the replica are in this room while the third travels around. It’s cool to go in the vault and see the original and the replica gives you a hands on opportunity for a photo (kiss it!)
There are also a couple theatres, one which shows a history movie and the other a cheesy 3D movie. The gift shop is large and the prices weren’t bad.
Expect to spend an hour or two at most (less if you skip the movies). For the price, it’s not bad ($ 15ish? Get a coupon from your hotel).

I am a huge hockey fan, more importantly a gigantic ranger fan. My girlfriend (her family has been ranger fans since the 40’s) and I came to the HOF with high expectations. I compare this to Cooperstown Baseball HOF which is much larger but I enjoy the Hockey HOF because they split it perfectly into the different sections of interest. It is located basically inside a food court, where we had lunch in the financial district. Hard to find if you do not know what you are looking for but that was part of the fun. I won’t dive into the exhibits too much, I uploaded plenty of pictures. The Canadians locker room was awesome to experience, the movie is a great start to the day, the goalie and slap shot area for kids is cute. We did the sport center broadcast which was really hard to keep up with, makes me appreciate how hard play by play and broadcasting is. The IHF part is awesome and the great hall of coarse is the thing to see. Pose for a picture with the fake Stanley cup, the real one is with Chicago right now.

Very well, the layout was a bit confusing to maneuver. Once I got a personal system down it was fun. Walked here from the Aquarium which was also cool and within in walking. Got to see a lot of cool things. The store was a bit expensive as they all are.

My cousin and I had a great time here-​visiting from TX, U.S. We learned much about hockey, we got to shoot at the goal, and be goalies.
Workers were nice and sweet also.
And I loved the HHOF shop! I bought plenty souvenirs for my family back at home.
Also, my cousin and I got free tickets. Hehehe. We highly recommend visiting the HHOF. And walking to China Town like we did! Queen St is awesome!

Great place. History is here. Take your time reading thing, all about your favorite player. Go see movie in Tim Horton theater. Gift shop is a little over priced. Fix the elevator please. Had a great time. I will be back even if the rude ticket sellers are their. Have Canadian cash or lose out.

I’m not even a big hockey person (went for my husband), but had a great time there. In addition to the huge array of historical pieces, they had a ton of interactive exhibits. Simulators where you’re the goalie, simulators where you’re shooting the goal, air hockey (of course), video games, the opportunity to play sportscaster… Really cool.
Then, the trophy room felt like a throne room and we were completely in awe of the amazing ambiance and history it held. It is in an old turn of the century bank, with lovely ceiling and details and even the old converted safe area…
We were there during the finals, so the real Stanley Cup wasn’t there, but we took a picture with the temporary duplicate on that was.
Parking was a breeze too.

Being an enormous hockey fan, this was on my to-​do list of touristy places to visit in Toronto, and it did not disappoint.
I did have a local friend who told me «oh yeah, that place is really only if you like old hockey stuff.» I felt this was not true at all. There’s plenty of old stuff, but there’s just as much new stuff, too. Sometimes, you have to approach museum/​tourist attractions like this with a certain mindset. It helps to really go all out and get into it.
Lee hadn’t actually been here before, which I think disqualifies him from being a proper Canadian. I actually can totally understand why though — I was born in San Francisco and never rode a cable car. I think he really enjoys seeing Toronto through the eyes of a newcomer, and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience as well.
There’s a couple of different sections of the place. There’s lots and lots of walls of hall of fame inductees, with memorabilia and detailed stats on their careers. There’s a replica Habs locker room, which was pretty cool to just hang out in. There’s a nice interactive area, with a couple of movies running, some games, a fun Sportsnet «be the broadcaster» booth and a bunch of goalie and shooting simulators that were really popular on the day we were there.
There’s a little exhibit of the AHL and ECHL affiliations, which is a little bit out of date with the new alignment changes in those leagues, but I’ll give ‘em a pass.
Then there’s the cathedral shrine section. That’s really the best way to describe the room where all the trophies are kept. It has a cathedral ceiling with stained glass windows, and just a beautiful thing to behold on its own. All the various trophies are on display with information about the recipients. There’s a lockable vault are where the Real Original Stanley Cup (the part that’s on the very top of the current trophy) is kept, and then there’s one of the cups in a spot that, if you are very cool about it, they’ll let you have your picture taken with it.
I will say the one slight disappointment was that the gift shop was a little bit of a letdown — I was hoping for more things from all of the teams, it was a bit more of an emphasis on Canadian teams. Totally understandable but, still.
Anyhow, this is for sure a must visit at least once if you are at all a fan of hockey.

Completed another entry on my bucket list.
When you go to a place like the Hall of Fame you expect to be filled by the history and excitement the game has given you since you were old enough to walk. The Great Hall of Trophies is incredible on its own with getting your picture with The Stanley Cup being the highlight. That was until yesterday when while we were looking at all the trophies who would walk up and introduce himself to us? None other than Lanny MacDonald. I am just standing there with a stupid grin while my wife takes a picture of the two of us.
The rest of the Hall is amazing and would love to go again but nothing will match this visit.

We had a great time and spent a little more than 3 hours inside. It was not crowded, and we didn’t read every single bit of information, but we did see everything.
In the Great Hall, you can take your own pictures, but if you want the docent to take a photo, you will have to pay for it from the store. It is worth the $ 10 to get the lighting just right. You will get a few prints for that and then can download the photo online later. Visiting with the Stanley Cup in the Great Hall is a moving experience. It’s like walking into a church. The Cup on display is not the «traveling Cup» that you see the player’s raise or visit different events. Note that there are no spelling mistakes on the Cup in the Great Hall. However, it is a legitimate stand-​in. If anything were to happen to the traveling Cup, this one is ready to take its place!
The interactive games where you can shoot or try to stop pucks are a lot of fun and worth waiting in line, if you have to.
Even if you aren’t a big hockey fan, this is a well laid out and very colorful museum. They have so many jerseys and old equipment and artifacts. It’s a shame there isn’t more about the beginnings of hockey, but part of that is because the origins are a little unknown.
The only thing we didn’t do was the 3D movie thing. I can’t speak to that.

I am a diehard hockey fan and I have always wanted to visit the Hockey Hall of Fame so when I found myself in Toronto there was no chance that I was going to miss this opportunity.
The one thing I wasn’t expecting however was to find the Hall of Fame in a basic shopping mall but the shopping mall had a Starbucks and there were no restrictions on bringing beverages inside so I got over it=)
I paid the entrance fee which was reasonable and even kicked in the extra few bucks to watch the 3D movie they had playing even 45 minutes of so. I was surprised during my visit (Holiday season) that the Hall was not close to be crowded which was GREAT!!! This Hall of Fame is open 362 days a year, only closed for Induction Day, Christmas Day & New Year’s Day.
I was in awe of the items on display here, as a hockey fan you could not help and stare and think of the history, stories and/​or memories that go along with each item on display. This was the Hall of Fame so you had every piece of hockey history dating back to the origination.
I observed old school hockey masks, jerseys, equipment and even mock locker rooms. I walked to an area of the Hall of Fame that is inside of a working vault that contained the first set of rings from Lord Stanley’s Cup as well as every single trophy that is awarded throughout hockey throughout the history of organized hockey, I even got to touch the Stanley Cup AGAIN!!!
I finally journeyed to the movie theater and found a seat in the middle to watch the movie that had playing. I found the movie to be a little long and lacking that emotional connection with hockey, I honestly found it to be quite cheesy but I am still glad I experienced it.
Before finishing my tour and seeing «The Great One» 802^nd goal scored hockey puck, the New Jersey Devils & Los Angeles Kings names on the Stanley Cup, old school CCCP hockey jerseys & pucks, items from the Miracle on Ice and everything else that I encountered I began to look for the exit.
As I was walking toward the exit I found myself smack dab in the middle of an interactive hockey experience. You could sign up for ‘free’ and take your chances manning a regulation sized hockey goal. While staring at a video screen of a hockey player making a breakaway, you have to stop a slap shot from the player which comes in your direction in the foam hockey puck traveling at a good rate of speed. This is the area in which I encountered a long line and decided to get myself away from all the coughing and sneezing folks but did enjoy people watching from the side.
Overall this was an amazing experience that I am stoked I crossed off my list. If you are visiting Toronto this is a must see hockey fan or not.

The HHOF was one of the «must-​see» items on my trip itinerary when I visited Toronto and I am pleased to say that it did not disappoint. I am a HUGE hockey fan (my friend and I were actually in Toronto to watch the world junior hockey tournament) and I am also a librarian so the HHOF appealed to both of these sensibilities.
I’m one of those people who needs to read everything in a display so I’m sure that the nearly three hours my friend and I spent here is more than most people take. This is the kind of museum where you can either breeze through all the exhibits or you can take your time and absorb every detail. It’s totally up to you.
The first room you enter holds feature exhibits of some of the more famous and influential inductees. There are also exhibits featuring facts and memorabilia for each of the NHL teams (current and former), war veterans, and minor league teams. While most of the the HHOF focuses on the NHL, there is also a substantial section on international hockey (particularly the IIHF) as well.
The interactive exhibits were really exciting to watch. You had a choice to play as a shooter or as a goalie up against a computer simulation. It was much harder than it looked! The lines weren’t particularly bad. We only waited about 20 minutes and this was on a Sunday afternoon. There were also some trivia and Nintendo Wii game included in the price of admission. The only thing that cost extra was a game of old-​school table hockey but I was glad to give up a loonie to have a go at it.
I think my personal favourite part of the museum was the Montréal Canadiens mock-​dressing room. It was neat getting to see the progression of jerseys and equipment over the year. However, the obvious highlight for most people is the trophy room which houses replicas of all the NHL awards given out every year, the most famous of which is the Stanley Cup. You are able to take your own photos or for a small fee a professional photographer can do the job for you.
I had a great time here and was not disappointed. The HHOF is an obvious must-​see for hockey fans and history buffs alike.

Worth the trip for sure. Any HOF should be on your bucket list, I can say the MLB hall of fame is more charming and has more ambiance in Cooperstown.
This is my second visit, I did enjoy the second visit better. The best part is the room with the Stanley Cup and other plaques, trophies, and unique vaults and architecture. This section is a true class act, and worth every penny.
The rest of the museum is interactive, but lacks a little substance. The gift shop is great as well.

HOORAY SPORTS. DO THE THING, WIN THE POINTS.
The Hockey Hall of Fame definitely was not my pick during our stay in Toronto, but how could I say no? It would almost be foolish to not do something hockey oriented while in Canada, right?
For $ 18/​adult for entry, there is plenty to see and do. Some people say they spent «hours» here, but I don’t think we were here for more than an hour, maybe an hour and a half.
Even though my sports knowledge and interest is near zero, I liked looking at all of the different jerseys and making faces at the ones I deemed «ugly,» as well as exclaiming, «aww! how cute!» at jerseys with penguins and other cute animals.
There are a few interactive things to do here. The puck shoot sure draws a crowd! I urged Dominic P. to give it a try, and you better believe I gave the stink eye to the little shit who tried to cut in front of him. The puck shoot is included in the admission price, and the line didn’t get too long since there were four different lanes. If you have little ones, the employees aren’t as strict about them standing behind the line :)
There is a lot of information to take in, just like a museum, but if you’re less interested in reading little plaques, you won’t need hours upon hours here. My inner journalism major was intrigued by the broadcast history timeline, so I spent a few minutes checking that out.
The original Stanley Cup is here too, and you can take photos with it as well. This room is understandably guarded by a few employees. I think I was the only person more interested in the stained glass ceiling dome than the Stanley Cup itself.
The hall of fame exits into a very pricey gift shop. There’s a good chance you can find these souvenirs elsewhere for a bit less.
I’m not sure how the Hockey Hall of Fame could improve, and Dominic P. is the one who picked this, so I can’t see any reason to NOT give this five stars.

Located in a nice indoor mall, with easy access from transit and close to the lakeshore.
This is the dedicated fan’s heaven. Starting from outside and the arrangement of goalie masks from the beginning of time.
A bit expensive, but a tremendous collection of memories. Great movie. Bring the kids.

Out of my time in Toronto, I can certainly say that the time I spent at the Hockey Hall of Fame was among the highlights. What a great destination! There is so much to see here, I found it hard to see all of it and prioritize what I did see. The movie was cheesy, so if you’re short on time I would say to skip that one. But– it wasn’t as bad as everyone is saying and if you have a whole day here than go for it. I can see kids really getting into it.
I was especially fond of the games you could play. There were old school hockey table games and then a simulation type game where you could shoot into a goal or actually role play a goalie and they were both a lot of fun! I wouldn’t come here a second time, but I am really happy that I have made it here at least once. Put this on your ‘to-​do’ list, for sure!
