Game Shack

Fun place to come and browse for stuff that you may not know that you want (i.e. Star Wars Family Guy DVD? Cool, can’t live without one!) but not a very good place to go if you’re looking for an ACTUAL rare video games cart. Almost every single game title I’m looking for is NOT there, but I seem to always find a fascinating thing or two that I didn’t know I wanted, for a low (ish) price.
Location is pretty convenient, and if you don’t care about the quality of packagings (because most of them are horrendous), then you’ll have a fun time browsing through the shelves, especially because their selection is pretty large (though, again, they never seem to have what I’m searching for).
Not the greatest customer service, mind you. I’m pretty sure the cashier rolled his eyes at me TWICE in one conversation. And I’m not exactly a noob when it comes to gaming.

I recently unpacked an used 3DS bought from Game Shack here. I tested it a few times with games like Pokemon, Tetris, Kirby and everything else. It came with the original box, AR cards, the free 2 gigabyte SD card, and all the documentation. At the time, I took the time to test it at the counter. The HOME buttons were a little sticky and didn’t want to budge.
I brought it home and discovered that the free stylus was chewed on, the memory card was filled with pictures of a kid and his family, and lastly, the L and R triggers did not want to work.
It was a major purchase — $ 75, and to discover that the previous owner had spilled something sticky on the 3DS and Game Shack didn’t bother to check that all the functions of the 3DS worked? Yeah, not so much.
Anyhow, they are a bit expensive and unprofessional.
* To make it worse, the 3DS was meant to be a gift to my fiancée. I can’t gift her a broken 3DS and now am looking for ways to fix it. (I’m probably going to phone Nintendo for some repairs…)

Great game selection
Cost wise is very expensive as opposed to getting it through the web, if you cannot purchase stuff like these through shipping or cannot wait for packages for 1week, this is the place to go. Pay a few extra bucks to get your game quicker an play it faster. If you’re game collecting you can see the quality of the merchendise.

From what I could see, they have a plethora of current gen games along with sci-​fi and kids DVDs. They have a good deal on buy 2 get one 20% off currently on used game but other than that they seem to be about the same price as EB. The new games mostly seem to be priced more than EB so don’t both with that, just go down the street.

If you’re going to claim to sell vintage video games, I at least expect you to have an adequate collection of original Nintendo games. I’m not asking for Paper Boy here, just a few Mario Bros. THEN you could call yourself a «video game dealer».
Sure you’ve got loads of other games for PS2 and Wii and XBox but if I want to buy Tiger Woods ’05 for $ 5 I can go get it at EB Games. Give me Kirby’s Dreamworld and I’ll give you my business.
