My primary hair dresser does not work out of Francesca Salon & Spa, however, because she does not do extensions, and I wanted them for my wedding a friend recommended Francesca’s. She had extensions that looked fabulous, so I went to Vanessa, her hair dresser and had her set me up with the tape-in extensions. Vanessa was great, and the hair extensions looked so natural. I was very pleased with how long they lasted, and how naturally they blended with my real hair. Vanessa did a spectacular job colour matching them to my hair. When I went back to have them removed(after having them re-done once), I had them colour my hair. I had brought with me a single picture of the colour I wanted, which was a copper(ish) colour. I cannot remember they name of the colourist I worked with but she did a great job with the copper colour and then added a few blonde highlights. Overall I was very satisfied and would definitely recommend Francesca Salon & Spa to friends and family. Additional bonus: whenever you get a hair service, you get a free make-up application. Typically, I do not like the way other people do my make-up(they often put on too much, or make me feel like a streetwalker), but I was extremely happy with the make-up they did, very natural and clean. I will definitely be returning to get my hair coloured in the future.

Tucked in off the main strip of Forest Hill village, this little gem may be difficult to spot at first, but out of all the many spas in the village(there are at least FOUR), this one is the one I frequent for four reasons: it’s close to my home, it’s affordable, it’s luxurious and they do a consistently fantastic job. Many of Forest Hill’s elite frequent Francesca’s probably for the same reason I do; they make you feel welcome and they remember who you are. When you walk in, you’re greeted by one of the many friendly faces on the ground floor. They provide the typical aesthetic services of a salon and spa: manicure, pedicure, facial, massage, waxing, make-up, hair. Downstairs has the atmosphere of a salon; it’s bright and sunny. Upstairs is warm, dark, soothing and relaxing. Like any spa, you have to be able to tell them not to criticize your beauty régime if that’s not something you want to hear. I really don’t like to go to any spa with the expectation that I’ll come out glowing and feeling like a movie star only to come out feeling dejected and criticized because I don’t have perfect skin and can’t afford to have a monthly facial. You need to book in advance with them, but I once had to get an emergency manicure(I know, you’re laughing at me) and they were able to accommodate. If they can’t do it, they’ll recommend someone who can. Now, that’s service.
