History
Established in 2013.
Our founder, Janet Wright, had this crazy idea to source the best socks from Canada, the United States, and all over the world. So in 2012 she set out on this mission and continues to search the world for unique, well-made, amazing, wonderful socks.
FloorPlay Socks is about having fun, from the knees down. Sure, socks are important: they keep your feet warm in winter and cooler in summer, they provide a healthy barrier between your feet and shoes, and they provide cushioning and comfort while you walk or stand. But that doesn’t mean they have to be boring!
Let us dress up your feet, or help you make a statement, or simply impress your boss, your friends, or that cute girl or guy down the street. Let us help make your feet colorful, captivating, fun, sexy, and comfortable. Your feet will love you for it!
Meet the Business Owner
Janet W.
Business Owner
Janet Wright is the founder of FloorPlay Socks. She wanted to bring sock fashion and fun to Queen West, opening a store that only sells socks (okay, and one line of leggings and underwear… but only because they are truly unique and wonderful).
Janet’s BIG idea was to help people express themselves through socks. She believes that socks are individualistic: fun or serious, simple or wild, classy or cute, sexy, hilarious, unexpected, tacky, scary, or just about anything you can imagine. Kind of like tattoos, without the pain or permanence.
After the first year on Queen West, Janet opened a second store on Yonge Street (five blocks north of Eglinton Ave. And we don’t think she’s done just yet.
