I am just writing this review responding to one of the comments on here which is unfair. A repairman can’t tell you the exact cost of a job, he/she can only give you an estimation in the beginning of the job.. There are a lot of factors that can cause a job to be more than the estimation. There may be unexpected findings like a busted pipe behind a wall or hole in the wall or damage etc. Some walls require more coats of paint sometimes. The best way to evaluate a good repairman is to get references and the quality of the job in the end.
As a consumer you just need to be aware of price range; as long as your total cost falls within the range that other repairman are charging you’re fine.
Personally I have only experienced two kinds of repairmen. One that’s competent and one that’s not. If I am happy with the job in the end, then I am. If I end up paying a little more it doesn’t bother me in the least because I know it’s hard to estimate.

Miscommunication. Jobs taking much longer than discussed therefore costing more. Ending up with jobs Half completed. I now have to hire someone else to re paint a wall and sand down patched holes and reprint them as well. I wish I had have done more research. I had a discussing with Lesley at Fix It before the last day of work and after expressing my dissatisfaction about how people were coming unprepared and had no clue what they were supposed to be doing so therefore not doing it, I was promised all of the last things that had to be done would take two hours (no surprises, all the unfinished jobs were discussed). Four and a half hours later, I’m left with the task of having to hire someone else to fix Jobs already paid way too much for. Unfinished. Beyond frustrated.
I’d advise people to hire another company that charges per job not hour. Don’t make my mistake…

I was tired of waiting around for friends to help with little repairs around my apartment. Somehow I managed to find Fix It, and Lesly, the owner, got back to me right away. She was friendly, professional and kept her word. She sent Matt, who arrived punctually as promised. He is very knowledgeable. He is a gem! Clean, organized, honest, and really knows what he is doing. I would highly recommend this service to anyone and will be calling them again soon.
They charge by the hour so there are no surprises!

I called up Fix It! to do some small handy work around my condo. They were very professional over the phone and created a work order for the items I needed to get fix around the condo.
The handyman did get lost arriving to the condo but they started charging only after he begun work. They charge every 15 minutes after the first hour. They did a great job on the work they did and kept the condo very clean after completing the work.
I would definitely recommend their services.
