Showed up here around 1am and the club was at full capacity so we had to wait. This process was disorganized and irritating because there were two lines in two directions and people were just walking up and trying to get in too. Got pretty annoyed because about 10 people would leave and the bouncer would let in about 3. All that aside, we got in after 20 minutes(plus a 20 $ cover fee) and it was totally worth it! The dancing area on the lower level wasn’t that big but it worked out well because I like dancing in a jampacked place. Music was on point! Hiphop, top 40 and some throwbacks. Definitely got the crowd moving right up until 2am(crowd thinned out after last call). Can’t wait to come back next time, hopefully earlier to enjoy the dancing experience longer!

Came here with some friends yesterday — co-ed group in our early 30s — to celebrate my birthday and everyone had a fabulous time. To the previous reviewer from New York, I’d say that this is one of Toronto’s more NY-type experiences, which I love. Open booths right on the dance floor, great tunes, and definitely people dancing. Tatiana our server was above and beyond helpful, friendly and attentive. The bathroom and its attendants were equally on the ball. I felt totally comfortable in(nice) denim jeans and a fun tank top, even with a number of people — including my own girlfriends — in party dresses. The only downside to this place is how late it opens. Although they will tell you it’s 10:30, you really can’t count on the doors to be open until 11:00, and if you’re on guest list, you’ve gotta be in my 11:30. So if you’re coming with a group of 10+ like I did, you had better be coordinated for that half hour arrival window. Obviously this is just an FYI — not enough to lose a star, IMO ;) On the overall, we had a blast, thanks F-stop and DJ Soundbwoy!

Great DJ, decent prices for a nice club and very friendly bartenders. Very excited the bartender remembered my strange drink order!

A pretty nice club that plays lots of hip hop. But why is no one dancing? Most girls just gave a little shake here and there, and the guys were at their tables just kinda watching the girls. Dress code was pretty much dress to impress. Girls were wearing skirts and heels, guys in suits. Some guys were dressed more relaxed, not very few girls were dressed down. Very simple bar, no cocktails or mixed drinks. I asked for a long island, and she was like«whats that?» Drinks are around 8 $ each. 20 $ cover. Its located in an ally way. A lot of bouncers/security people around every corner of the club. Would come back but hopefully more people are dancing.

Ok music, they need more areas to sit and hang out with friends. I liked the guy that walked around with e cigarettes, nice touch. They need to bring in some old and new school hip hop. Will try again

This place is getting worse and worse every time I go. Last summer it was my go-to spot because the music was so good. It’s hard to find clubs that play good hiphop music these days, its all that edm crap. Anyways, last night I was there with a bunch of girlfriends and we had guestlist. The girl working the guestlist was incredibly rude to me. I am 6ft tall and she says to me «Next time, try and wear heels okay?». Seriously??? I am NOT wearing heels, she was, and I was still MUCH much taller than her. I found that very offensive. She said it was a dress code thing but like come on, I was still wearing a little black dress. Aside from that, the crowd wasn’t all that great either. No one was dancing but instead just standing in crowds on the dance floor. This place used to be way more fun.

I’m gonna call it gangster’s shithole, but to you, it could be paradise. Overpriced drinks– I paid $ 8 for a bottle of beer. The place was overcrowded with people imagining themselves to be hardcore Gs. Not my scene. Could be yours.

I had a great time with friends. Small place but very cosy… no douchiness at all. Crowd was good mostly young 20s; tones of guys and less girls actually for a Friday night. Cover was $ 15 with free redbulls but drinks were really cheap considering King Street. DJ was amazing. Played a bit of everything; hip-hop, house, etc. Very enjoyable and great to dance to. I loved that it wasn’t overcrowded for a Friday night.

I concur with some of the previous reviews re: great music, decent crowd, bathroom attendants were polite. Yes, the cover is a bit pricy and the bartenders stingy with the alcohol, but these aspects can be easily overlooked because of overall quality of the venue. The security personnel on the other hand were very rude. My group was going to order more bottles but we got fed up with them and left early. I understand the nature of their job, but they went a little overboard. No need to police not-so-young adults who are not intoxicated, do not show skin, and are not acting lavish in any way. They managed to ruin the mood and definitely picked on the wrong people. Very unprofessional and disappointing! I hope they revise their attitude because I really enjoyed the locale otherwise.

First of all, I am way too old to be clubbing. Somehow I ended up at F-Stop on a Saturday night. After a 8 – 9 year clubbing hiatus, I was fully prepared to lose my sh1t over the doucheyness of this place. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The people — I would say are mostly mid-20s on average. Perfect mix(50⁄50) of male to female. Dressed to impress. The club — is quite small with an upper and lower level. Capacity can’t be too much more than 250. They have quite a few U-shaped seating areas with bottle service, they lack any real privacy as they are just cushioned seating adjacent to the small dance floor. If you didn’t grab one of these, you are likely stuck standing up. There is a bar on each level. Drink time was very reasonable. The bathrooms — are very well organized and clean, with security guards posted outside to ensure nothing too crazy is going on. The décor — lost me. It was dark but there were 2 deer heads mounted on the walls, which didn’t seem to suit a nightclub of this type whatsoever. Nothing else stood out. The DJ — Played mostly top 40. I liked the music. Well done, DJ. Clap-clap The damage — $ 20 cover.

There were 30 of us going(mixed crowed, everyone well dressed), and we got the guest-list ahead of time and everything. We arrived at 11:20(10 minutes before the guestlist expires) and they told us we could not get in, because it is at their discression. The«guestlist» gives you line by-pass but you still have to pay the $ 20 cover(for a place in an allyway it is very steep). While trying to convey them to let us in, I told them that he is missing out on $ 600 from us just for cover, at which point the bouncer said«it is not about the money and walked away». We ended up going next door to c-loung which had $ 10 cover, we got in without any issues, and everyone had a good night. Bouncers do not have common sense for business and they abuse their power, do NOT go.

Same shit, same neighbourhood. Another club on King Street… Wowie. Actually, despite a few things(like a girl telling me «fuck you» as she passed me on my way in), I had a great time at F-stop. The DJ played a very good selection of music that was just enough to appeal to the top-40 crowd without going overboard and getting nauseating. And, he spun records. Like actual LPs! Wha-what?! That’s a rarity, especially among the King-West clubs. I was impressed. So, other than the music, the space is pretty decent. It’s small enough. It’s big enough. It’s got a lower-level and an upper-level with«booths» scattered about. The crowd was definitely in the party spirit and it was nice to be around people who were having a lot of fun. The music was super-loud so don’t expect to have much of a conversation with the person next to you. This pace is for hand gestures and facial expressions only. It was Thursday night and there were a lot of guys in the club. Single girls, this is your spot. Obviously, this is where a lot of downtowners were ending their workday! Suits galore. There was a lot of dancing going on and the crowd was open, friendly and lively. The service is questionable. At one point I ordered 3 drinks from the bar. I noticed that one of the drinks, although the bottle hovered over the glass, did not have any alcohol pour into it. I pointed this out(Hey, I don’t think this one got any vodka”) and the bartender snapped back, «Yes it did.» When I asked if she was sure and offered that she taste it, she looked away and properly topped-up the glass. Score one for me! As another reviewed mentioned, the security staff generally, is pushy and cold! We arrived with a group who had bottle service. After enjoying a few drinks, a security dude kicked us out! Haha! We were there for a good time, so didn’t argue. Whatever. As our coats and bags were in the booth, my friend explained that we still had to get our stuff from the seats but the dude was having none of it. He wouldn’t even look at her while she spoke to him.(We weren’t drunk so it wasn’t like he was avoiding some obnoxious, aggressive partier). Anyway, we finally were able to grab our bags/coats and met up with other friends who were also in the club. Security and bartenders: thumbs down. Crowd: thumbs-up! Finally, what I hate the most are businesses with washroom attendants. It’s quite uncomfortable to ask someone for soap and a towel. …and then not being able to tip because you have no change! Actually, in general I find that employing bathroom attendants in clubs is tacky and degrading. That said, the woman in the washroom and the security guy downstairs were polite, said«hello» and«have a good night.» The energy of the crowd sold this place for me. I’ll be back on a Thursday.

MEANGIRLSGALORE?! I will never go to this place again. At least not on a Friday. CROWD GIRLSGIRLSGIRLS! I don’t think i saw more than 15 guys in this place. And the 15 guys there thought they were the SH*T! Taking off their shirts and claiming all the women they could fit in their arms. The girls though… wow…pushy anyone? not happy about that. VENUE The venue is really small and the booths are in odd locations. COVER $ 15 bucks. NOTWORTHITATALL. MUSIC I can’t even remember b/c i was getting pushed around by the girls. All i can remember was that only 15 minutes went by and i wanted to get the heck out of this place. SECURITY I know you want us to exit through the rear doors instead of the front doors but do you really need to push? This place should be called the«push-stop» b/c pushing was the theme. was that corny?

I had a terrible experience at F-Stop, and I felt I had to share it. My friends and I wanted to go to a club that had some fun music and people above 20 years old in it to dance and enjoy ourselves, and we were excited to try this place out. First, it was $ 20.00 to get in. Steep… I don’t remember the last time I had to pay so much to get in a bar. But not the end of the world. I paid my money and went in. Immediately we felt uncomfortable — there were a lot of creepy dudes with really really strong cologne brushing up against us and the place was so crowded I felt pushed around like a rag doll. But fine — it’s a club, so I got over it and we went to the bar to grab a drink. Suddenly, three guys pushed me out of the way and walked past me roughly. The one in the middle turned around and gave me a really creepy look like I was a piece of meat. I had had a few drinks, was already frustrated with the caliber of guys I had met from walking in, and I thought it was extremely obnoxious that this guy had practically pushed me over then turned around to hit on me… so I looked straight at him and gave him the finger. Now, I admit that was immature, and I probably wouldn’t have done it again if I had the choice… but I had been drinking… I had been pushed roughly to the side… and I felt really objectified. The guy freaked out. Like FREAKEDOUT. He ran up to the bouncer, walked him straight over to me and yelled in my face«NOONETREATSTHEOWNEROFTHECLUBTHATWAY. KICKHEROUT.» Yeeeeeeeeeeeah, apparently that creepy guy was the owner of the club. I had no idea. He seemed really offended that I thought he was creepy. The bouncer pulled me to the back door and told me I had to get out. I was instructed to leave by myself, through a small alleyway to the side of the club. Yes. I was a drunk girl, by myself, my friends were still inside. And they made me stand by myself in my dress in an alleyway. I tried to talk to the bouncer to say I felt uncomfortable, but he ignored me. My friends finally found me about 20 minutes later, still standing there, alone. Yep, all three of us paid $ 20.00 to walk into a club stand there for 30 minutes, and get tossed out like garbage for not fawning all over the owner… Again. I probably shouldn’t have reacted so quickly to that creepy guy who turned out to be the owner. But come on. It was — by far — the worst club experience of my life and I will never, ever, ever go back there.

Went here for a friend’s birthday on a Saturday night and had an AMAZING time! Truthfully, I don’t like a lot of the popular clubs in Toronto for a few reasons 1. a lot of T. O clubs allow in minors that can’t keep their clothes on or their liquor down 2. a lot of clubs play what I hear on the radio over and over mixed in with some beats(I get kind of sick if just dancing to untz-untz-untz all night) However, F-Stop really impressed me. First off, the music was so so so so good! They played some house music but also hip hop and some oldies all mixed Everyone in my party loved it and people were going crazy for certain songs(especially the hip hop, which is usually not played at a lot of mainstream clubs) The place was quite packed but there didn’t seem to be any creepy guys or those random guys who stand on the side lines and wait to pounce They had coat check. Washrooms are down a flight of stairs and the doors close kind of weird(like a closet) I had a really great time here. Yes, I had great company but the music was really good and so was the bottle service — we actually had 2 people for our booth and everything was constantly refilled and cleaned up. The drink girl even kept bringing sparklers cause it was my friend’s birthday. All in all, the best Toronto club experience I’ve had in a long time!

Came here on a recent trip to TO. New York buddy who used to live in TO claimed this to be one of the more solid joints here. He did not disappoint. Parking lot for this place on Wellington was all blinged out S Classes, Maseratis, and nice SUVs. Entrance is on a side ally away from the throngs of revelers on the main streets. Crowd was fashionable and all tables were sold out. Music was hip hop and mixed quite well. Drinks were strong $ 10 a pop. Bottles of Goose were $ 240++, so think $ 290 all in. If you want a classier crowd then most all the spots in the area this would be one to check out.

This place is hidden in an alleyway — the one that goes between Wellington St West and King St West so don’t be surprised by my marker placement on the map. This places used to be called Hyde Lounge(judging by my internet research). I took part of Marie F.‘s review of Hyde Lounge because it seems certain aspects haven’t changed since she reviewed it here — . Went there opening night because I was invited by a website. They told me it was a ‘private«Friends & Family» opening and that the site was bringing 50 guests as the owner was also bringing his own personal VIPs at the event. It is being built up as the go-to Thursday night spot this summer in Toronto. Got there about 11:30 and they had ‘hit capacity’ at this«Friends & Family Event» and kept me waiting outside for about 30 minutes. It is the same club scene as everywhere else. It looks like it could be a good time if you are willing to seriously open your wallet and/or you go with a bunch of friends but that wasn’t the experience I had. I honestly didn’t see anything there that would distinguish it from any other club I have ever been to… even the fact that it’s in an alleyway wasn’t unique(there are plenty of those in Toronto too). When I was finally let in to the club I found that most of my friends had already had enough and were on their way out.(They too had waited 20 minutes in line at the door.) It’s a pretty dressy place, after the guy in front of me in the ‘guest list line’(there were 2 lines for this ‘private event’, guest list and bottle service) had waited for longer than 20 minutes to get in the bouncer decides to mention that his shoes weren’t dressy enough for the club but the bouncer was going to be nice and let him in anyway. Really? You spent 20+ minutes standing next to the guy and THAT was the moment you chose to tell him that? That attitude of the front line staff on a night when it is invite only speaks volumes in my mind. I was there for about 20 – 30 minutes and then I left as well. I didn’t even go to the bar for a drink because I ran into a friend who poured me a drink out of their bottle so I don’t know what they charge. They do have a bathroom soap & towel attendant. Like Marie I say to please note that from what I saw there’s no ATM or coat-check at this club. The bathrooms are in a basement down a narrow stairway. Maybe once it opens to the public it will be a different experience but I don’t know that this place is actually going to be THE Thursday night spot this summer. In my mind the place had nothing that would distinguish it from any other club/lounge in King West and the vibe I got from the front line staff was… crap.
