Welcome to Toronto’s newest movement boutique, the Extension Room, located in the heart of the downtown core. In its new location as of 2012. The new home of The Extension Method™ is the brainchild of professional dancer and fitness specialist, Jennifer Nichols. The Extension Room offers a unique and diverse array of ballet fitness and dance classes, workshops and special events guided by professional dancers yet designed for everyone at all fitness levels. The first of its kind in Toronto, the Extension Room is located in a beautifully renovated industrial studio space at 30 Eastern Avenue (@ Sackville, just north of the historic Distillery District) Discover why we consider this the New Art of Fitness.
History
Established in 2003.
The Extension Method™ is an innovative ballet fitness class of physical conditioning and rehabilitative techniques based on the fundamentals of classical ballet. Conceived by Jennifer Nichols, professional dancer and fitness specialist, The Extension Method™ combines classical ballet technique with fitness conditioning to impart the strength, posture, ease of movement, and sculpted physique of a dancer. The method is adapted for individually tailored fitness classes as well as group sessions. Exercises are built upon establishing a strong, healthy ‘core’, giving an individual confidence on a physical level to both protect and challenge the body while participating in sport or in everyday life.
