At Empire we pride ourselves on our ability to make beautiful suits that fit with impeccable standard. Our entire team consist of only full time salaried professional clothiers who have chosen fashion as their career.
Its All About the Fit!
The way me build the shoulder of the suit is very distinct at Empire Customs. The shoulder mold is the main component of construction for the entire suit. At Empire Customs we offer three different types of shoulder molds; each one is measured and shaped/cast differently to account for each and every type of posture.
Empire is proud to offer a turnaround time of approximately four weeks, one of the quickest in Toronto. We have a father-and-son production team that works exclusively with us. We are one company.
Our production team has over 50 years of combined experience as a family tailoring operation. The father (in his late 60s) taught his son (in his 40s) everything there is to know about cutting tailor made suits.
History
Established in 2012.
Empire Customs was created out of pure necessity by two cousins who lived the «custom» lifestyle. As their personal and professional need for made-to-measure menswear increased, so did the curiosity to enter the market as a fresh face amongst weathered tailors. Today we are proud to say that we sell over 150 suits per month and over 90% of our new clients comes from referrals.
Meet the Business Owner
Dennis T.
Business Owner
Five years ago, Dennis Tavares was his ideal target customer: a young, stylish professional who understood the power of a well-made suit to help drive his career but one who had limited funds. «There was no way I could afford a $ 2,000 suit,» he says. Tavares began ordering less-expensive suits from Hong Kong and Thailand, which he says were better than off-the-rack suits, but not much. He finally found father-son suit cutters and sartorial satisfaction. Colleagues took note and asked him to do the same for them. Demand was so strong that he quit his job as a sales executive with a Fortune 500 company and launched Empire Customs (empirecustoms.ca) in Toronto in 2012. Today he sells about 150 custom suits a month.
