Don’t get your dog groomed here. This was the third time I have been disappointed since there seems to be no communication with the front desk and the groomers — not at all what I asked for so won’t return.

After 4 years of taking my cats to this vet, I am switching from this clinic after an experience I had today. I desperately needed someone to take a look at my cat because of potential blockage to his urinary tract. I called The Dundas Euclid Animal Hospital at 1:30 (they were open till 4:00) and I was told they could not make room for him (even after calling their sister clinics) and that I needed to take him to the emergency vet instead. This rubbed me the wrong way since they were my Cat’s ACTUAL vet, and becsuse of this I felt they were unsympathetic to his condition and to my own circumstance.
Instead I ended up taking him to another clinic who also told me they had no appointments, but once I explained the situation to them they took him right away — he wasn’t even a patient! Needless to say I am switching to a vet that is actually concerned with my pets well-​being and not with the fact they may not close on-​time if they have to help out one extra kitty (who really did need their help!)
After reflecting on everything I really don’t want to leave the clinic in such a negative light… During visits the vet has always been very kind and compassionate to my pets, but I do feel like they were very pushy with their dental cleaning services and regularly quoted me with cleanings and extractions In the amount of $ 1000+. Also, they pushed to sell me a lot of their «special» vet food which is made by Purina and I just don’t trust that I’m getting the highest quality food from such a big name brand. Because of this, I feel like this vet is way more concerned with their bottom line, and that helping animals is just part of the formula in this very lucrative business.
Not going back!

As a feline, I must say my human servant has good taste in vets. Although the place scares the crap out of me. .. literally, the kind staff take care of me with kit gloves. Doctor Edison Barrientos has taken care of me since I was a kitten, and has been there when I needed him.
He is my regular vet and he has done all my surgeries (I forgive him for turning me into a Eunuch, I just take it out my human servant.) If I’m in medical distress, usually after making it to the carpet to vomit — thank goodness — my human gets a clue, and almost on cue, seems to easily make an urgent appointment quickly.
Since I’m on a special diet, no mice, my human can walk in, unannounced, and purchase my vet-​grade food without having to wait around for a special order. When I stay overnight, it’s clean, and the staff try to make me feel welcome, even if I’m recovering and drowsy from the Quaaludes and anesthesia (sometimes I think they’re better than my human servant, might have to fire him).
I know I only have four paws, but I’m going to count my tail as a «fifth paw», and give this clinic five paws out of five as they have saved my life many times, and keep me in optimum health (and an optimum pooper too!)

I really like this vet.
They have answered extra questions I’ve had post-​appointment over email and telephone, which to me is going above-​and-​beyond. They are expensive, but vets in Toronto are expensive. I think they are competitively priced for the market (when I lived in NY, my vet was much cheaper) Toronto is just an expensive city.
I love the care they have given my dog. They always ask about extra tests, and I usually opt out. I don’t feel like they push unnecessary tests, they just care about my dog.
I would highly recommend this vet. They are sweet, responsive and very caring. I totally trust them with my dog.
(However, the groomer here is terrible. She/​he cut my dog during a groom and did not tell me. When I saw the cut after the groom and called them they offered me 25% off my next groom. They should have given me a free cut. Also the cuts they give are not cute. Do not groom here)

P. S. Navjit G. of the hospital (I guess?) wrote a semi-​nasty comment a couple months ago denying it all, and she just deleted it and added a nice one. All this to get more customers whose pets they might endanger.

Absolutely the worst vet service I have ever had. The doctor was inexperienced, pushed for expensive tests our dog had already had, was unsure about what to prescribe for a very common condition, even after we showed her the medication our vet in Los Angeles had prescribed and over-​charged for the medication at the end of the visit. Was actually appalled with what they consider veterinary care. The medication our dog is on is life-​long yet the vet refused to provide a refill on this critical medication. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Queen West Animal Hospital a few blocks away on the other hand, is a lovely place and after one visit there we will be returning with our pooch.

We had a terrible experience with the groomer here. We had a special needs dog who had become matted due to crate rest after surgery. He wasn’t completely healed, but as his matting was getting worse we thought we’d better get him groomed before it was so bad he needed to be shaved. Our vet (who saw him twice weekly) gave the okay and said she didn’t think he was too matted at all.
The groomer here seemed accommodating when I explained the situation, even offering to let me stay and keep an eye on him during the groom and bring our own natural pet products, which I really appreciated. She seemed confident and competent when we arrived so we thought we’d take a stroll and leave our dog in good hands. We had repeatedly stressed we wanted to avoid shaving our dog, while knowing that it *might* have to be done if the matting was really bad. When we arrived he wasn’t just shaved, he was shaved SO closely that he had what looked like razor burn in some areas! We went to the park afterwards and were only out for half an hour, mostly in the shade, but his skin turned bright pink (the fur was shaved so close you could see everything) — the poor guy got a minor sunburn! It’s one thing to shave a dog down if you absolutely must, it’s another to shave it so close that it’s skin is red, inflamed, and prone to sunburn.
The only plus side was that the groomer communicated well with me in the aftermath, and offered to have the vet their look at and treat his grooming injuries for free. We declined since he was being seen by our vet so frequently anyways for his condition.
Bottom line, get your dog groomed elsewhere if you can help it!

A great, friendly staff. We needed a plug-​in spray to get our cats good and stoned while we moved. Everyone was professional and courteous and as it was inexpensive there is nothing more I could ask for.

This place is very expensive.
We took our cats to this hospital, are we were floored at their estimate for a dental cleaning and tooth extraction. When I asked my neighbour about it, she mentioned that she used to take her cats there and when she was unable to pay their fees, that she was told, «This is not a charity.» Granted, people should be able to pay their vet fees, but when you charge almost double what other places charge, the word «charity» shouldn’t really come into use with clients who cannot pay your fees.
The service with your pets is just okay. Our pets have gone to other vets and have like them more (for example, not hiding in their carrier box, or not shedding hair excessively). The doctor we had (who, by the way, did not tell us his name) was wearing an excessive amount of cologne that we could smell on our pets for the rest of the day.
If you live in the neighbourhood, it’s definitely worth looking around or even taking the bus to a place more affordable.
