This West Indian restaurant is a local favourite in Long Branch. I’ve been a customer since it opened many years ago. The food has always been fresh & tasty. Never too salty and always the right amount of pepper. and flavor! We’ve had the breakfast, rotis(veg & meaty ones), rice & peas dinners, doubles etc and have always been pleased w/the food. The service is warm and friendly, despite how long the days may seem & how challenging it is for businesses to thrive on the Lakeshore. I’ve never had any of the problems described in the other reviews. They’d be listed on Dine Safe if they weren’t suitable for eating

If you like eating roting that’s goat is really tough and potatoes that are a paste this is the place for you. No flavor.

Really liked it on the first few times I went there. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s nothing special. I guess it depends on which day you go.

They used to be good. I’ve been here pretty regularly over the past two years for jerk chicken roti, but I don’t know what’s happened to the place lately. The new young man they have working at cash is terrible at customer service. The jerk chicken he served me today was watery and bland; I mean really watery. My rice was swimming in liquid. And he overcharged me. My stomach is also really starting to hurt; that’s what I get for eating watery chicken I guess. Every time I’ve had the older gentleman or his wife, the food’s been much better; so I guess that’s the only advice I can give. If the young guy is at the counter just leave. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Even as recently as last year Ducky’s was exceptional. In the last 6 months or so it appears something has changed. Now issues with portion size, quality, freshness, order accuracy, etc… I don’t know why this has been happening but I hope it goes back to the way it used to be. I have given 3 stars, it used to be a 4 but lately has been a 2.

IFYOUVALUECLEANLINESS, DONOTEATHERE! So, I went there tonight with my partner to grab a couple of rotis on the way home. We ordered two Vegetarian Delights and a tall, slim guy took our order(and money) then went to the back, presumably to pass the order on to the lady who seemed to be doing the food prep. The first indication that something might be amiss was when, a few seconds later, we could hear the beep of microwave buttons being depressed. Not a good start. About a minute later we’d positioned ourselves at a section of the counter where we had a clear view of the stove/griddle area and we could see the woman in the back flipping a roti wrap back and forth with a wooden paddle to heat it up prior to rolling. No problem there. THEN the guy who’d taken our order shows up next to her and starts chatting with her while simultaneously, and vigorously, scratching his neck, face and scalp! I was completely taken aback to see him doing this so close to the food, but was absolutely shocked when the woman finished heating and folding the wrap and the guy PICKEDITUP and took it off, out of sight, to another part of the kitchen! I immediately called the woman over and asked her if he was the one rolling our rotis. The response was yes, so I told her that we’d just finished watching her colleagues personal itch-fest, and that he hadn’t washed his hands before handling our food. «Oh, he washed when he came in the kitchen», she said. I pointed out that, whether or not that was true(I doubt he washed up) he’d DEFINITELY not washed up after scratching himself all over. Needless to say, I immediately demanded a refund, and proceeded to explain to the guy why. He seemed a tad perplexed until I put it to him that he wouldn’t appreciate someone doing that if they were preparing food for him. DISGUSTING! Dine(and I use that word loosely) at your own risk! I wish I could give this place zero stars, and I’ll definitely be calling the health department in the morning.

Not bad… In comparison to some of the other Caribbean places in Toronto their oxtail lacks flavor. Definitely doesn’t taste bad though, good place to go for a quick fix especially in this area where choices are rather scarce.

Love the roti here. My favorite is chicken or goat roti here. My husband likes the shrimp roti. Excellent doubles too. Friendly staff. Décor is lacking but I always take-out.

I crave this roti at least once per month. It is the absolute perfect ‘rainy day’ food, just the right amount of sauce and spice. I gave it 4 stars because it’s not exactly the picture of cleanliness. I recommend takeout.

Hands down best curry chicken roti!!! The Roti cravings are unbearable at times… This hidden gem is located in a fairly run down plaza between 24th and 26th street on Lakeshore Blvd West. Don’t let the exterior hinder you from taking a gander inside, the place is very clean; the ambiance is definitely inside the food. I notice most customers take-out, I always dine-in, when it comes to this delicious Roti I have no patience but to ravage it. I’ve been ravaging Ducky’s since late 2005 lol, I continue to go there often as possible even though its a road trip and a half to get there – It’s totally worth it. The place is family run and the people working there are always pleasant. West Indian style Roti rules! The prices are more than reasonable… I posted a pic of their menu, they also offer a special Saturday breakfast menu. I’m almost certain they have added chicken pelau, oxtail, fried plantains and west Indian style chow mien; It’s on another menu board. If it’s your first time going, try all the appetizers. They are great and super friendly on the pockets; you can most likely buy all the appetizer with the change you find in your couch. Fried plantain slices are 4 for a dollar. Things I love there. Curry Chicken Roti get the boneless thighs!!! $ 4.99 for a mini $ 6.99 for a reg. Stew beef with rice Goat Roti Potato Roti The hot pepper sauce on the side! The Phoulories are mini fried dough balls from heaven. You get 8 for $ 1.50 with a sweet chutney style dipping sauce All portions are very generous on the meat, If you get double meat your a beast! I’m not even going to describe the wonderful flavours and textures, get off your arse and go to Ducky’s Now!
