I have only purchased a few items from De La Mer thus far, but I can tell you all my experiences here have been excellent. The staff are extremely friendly, the shop is attractive with a wall of bubbles at the entrance. You HAVE to try the Candied salmon and Salmon jerky. I am ADDICTED to both of these. SOOOOOOOO tasty. The lox I bought from here was the best lox my boyfriend has ever had(and he’s really into lox). Also, they have pieces of sushi grade tuna in various sizes which is nice considering it is a pricier fish and other places only sell big $ 25 slabs of it.(or larger) I highly suggest you check out De La Mer you live in the area.

You know the awesome feeling that you get when visit your regular barista and they make you smile? These people do the same thing with fish! I rushed by today at closing time and the very nice guy(should have asked his name to mention him personally) unlocked the door to serve me. I work in retail so I know how it feels to make the extra effort. The smoked salmon jerky has a super unique tasty twist and the rosemary smoked steelhead trout is also one of my favs. They’ll pop and or shuck oysters for you while they dish out cute banter. They are knowledgeable and passionate about all the stuff they sell and will happily answer any sustainability, localvore or health conscious concerns. I love how chatty and friendly they are while still being able to serve quickly. It makes for a great experience every time I stop in. Thanks guys.

Great little place. Good selection however I’d like to see more local freshwater fish. The crab cake were ok they mostly fell apart when frying them. The tilapia however was enormous and delicious

As a long time vegetarian who just started eating fish again, this was the first place I went to. They came up as a sustainable place and were very knowledgeable about what they were serving. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I’ve been to this place a few times and I’ve always been pleased with my purchases. The fish is tasty and the staff seem happy to answer questions about where stuff is from or suggest how to cook it. I’ve stuck to the plain fillets, but they also have an array of fish that’s been stuffed, smoked, or made into burgers and a wall of non-fish accompaniments like mustard and pickles.

A great fishmonger! From house-smoked trout to seasoned filets to crab-stuffed mushroom caps, everything I’ve bought from De La Mer has been delicious and remarkably fresh. The service is always really friendly(they’ve been handing out a lemon«on us» the past few times I’ve visited) and their suggestions are always helpful. While I think Roncesvalles would be noticeably short on quality seafood without De La Mer, it doesn’t abuse its briny monopoly in any way. A gem for sure!
