I love matcha. Everything matcha, all the time. So I was excited when I found out Davids Tea has traditional matcha that they whisk in the proper technique, versus settling for the ever popular but inauthentic green tea lattes all over the place. The Grand Cru matcha is creamy, frothy and delicious. At $ 3.40, it’s almost two bucks cheaper than a latte at Starbucks and has zero calories, ten times the taste and the slow release caffeine benefits I love from matcha. So far service has always been excellent here too and the matcha tastes the same no matter who whisks it.

There were three employees in the store and despite waiting in line to buy some tea, I was bypassed for someone wearing a business suit who walked straight to the counter. The experience left a sour taste in my mouth unfortunately. Otherwise the Vanilla chai is still a great tea but I might stick to ordering online.

QuangZhou Milk Oolong(no actual milk in it) is the best! I tried it with milk(latte) with a little honey — I think I still prefer the regular version. This DavidsTea is convenient to many offices and is accessible via PATH. Serivce was good to start with, but my drink seemed to have been forgotten while the people behind the counter were helping other customers. I waited for quite a while — definitely longer than the steeping time for my tea.
