Daniels Spectrum is a community cultural hub in the heart of the revitalized Regent Park. It is the professional home of seven innovative cultural organizations and contains a number of event, performance and exhibition spaces.
History
Established in 2012.
The development of a new arts and cultural centre was a long-standing ambition for Toronto’s Downtown East neighbourhood and a key element in the social and community development goals of the Regent Park revitalization. Since opening in 2012, Daniels Spectrum has become a beacon for arts, cultural and community activity, drawing tens of thousands of visitors from across the city. By integrating and celebrating the cultural richness of the Regent Park community, Daniels Spectrum plays an important role in creating a socially inclusive, livable, healthy, safe and vibrant neighbourhood.
Daniels Spectrum is operated by Artscape, a not-for-profit urban development organization that makes space for creativity and transforms communities. It is owned by the Regent Park Arts Non-Profit Development Corporation (RPAD), a non-profit joint venture between subsidiary corporations of Toronto Community Housing, The Daniels Corporation and Artscape.
