This is the best place in the city to find any hair related products — even professional dye products. As well as for nails, skin, waxing… and the list goes on. Miss M. the owner and her staff are so informed on product knowledge but they are not hair dressers so take what they say with a grain of salt, but they are helpful.
They have true hair beauty supplies that even my stylist goes her when they are in a pinch. The prices are great — if something is not priced though — walk away because she make up prices.
It’s great for you know what you need type of place and you could for sure spend over an hour in here looking around at everything.

This place has everything you could ever want to buy for your hair, and them some! Even sells the products only available to hair styling professionals, so you can get that salon look at home. That being said, do not trust that just because the sales lady says it will do what you want they are not stylists and will not be there if something goes wrong, especially if you are inexperienced in what you are doing. It can be a bit hard to find what you want, although they have several staff eager and willing to assist you.
Not quite the high end feel to the shop as the other supply place I go to, as this is like a hair care warehouse. Overall I would say go in and see what you can get to make your hair look amazing!

Terrible customer service. The owner tends to follow people around the store and when asked a question, rudely answers. She is the worst business owner I have encountered. I was using an instant hair color tester and she came and stood besides me. Does not have pricing on some shampoos and hair products, so buyer pays what she thinks they should!!! In fact, upon checking similar items at another downtown store, the prices were less by 60%, so shop wisely. Does not respect her potential clients, so I will not return to her store. Thanks, but no thanks.

wow this place is great! they carry quite a large assortment of literally everything. this would be a good alternative to sallys beauty if you are in the downtown core. i was happy to find pravana vivids and joico intensity here. for people who know how to do their own hair, this is a great place to pick up colors and hair care. i didn’t have much time to fully have a look around but also got a little overwhelmed by the amount of products they carry

Fantastic assortment of products for hair AND fairly priced. This is now one of my go-​to places for salon products; however, DO NOT take the sales associates’ words on what would be good for your hair. They are not hairdressers. They may have been trained to sell these things, but that does not mean they are qualified. The best thing to do is to ask your hairdresser what to use and then go get what you need here.
As an example, on my last visit I bought a giant bottle of shampoo that I was advised to getinstead of some other product I had in my hand. Next time I went to get my haircut, my hairdresser said that the shampoo I ended up purchasing was definitely not what I needed for my hair type and hairstyle. Now I’m still stuck with using up half the bottole of this shampoo that I don’t need.
I’ve never purchased the makeup here, but to me it looks really old and really cheap. To be safe, buy your makeup from reputable brands that you know are long-​lasting and high quality.

Came here again, still don’t recommend listening to anyone. Make sure you know what you want. Had some problems with my products and they resolved it really nicely. I wonder what they’re going to do with the salon they have on the side though. It’s been years.

If you are looking for a better service for beauty products, go to sephora or sally’s. This store is hectic. Visually, their merchandises are everywhere.
I mainly go to this store to purchase hair coloring products. This stores carries professional products that aren’t mass-​consumer friendly. If you are looking to buy hair dye, they’ve got wella’s KP, CT, igora royal and other brands that aren’t widely available for non-​professionals. Because they sell professional products, it is up to you for to learn about the products before purchasing. Some sales associates have basic knowledge of the beauty, but you shouldn’t rely on them too much. Plus, their prices (for hair coloring products that I buy anyway) are reasonable or cheaper than online.
They’ve got every beauty product imaginable. If you are in a beauty emergency, this is the store you’d go to.
By the way, I only eye-​balled the back of the store, but they have a weak selection of hair extensions and wigs. But then again, if you are looking for weaves and extensions, there are better places in the city. For all you ‘vegetable dye’ fans out there, I believe they have Directions. but I didn’t see special effects.
Definitely worth a visit for beauty aficionados

Shady business! Buyer beware.
Purchased a Groupon for Safi Sole, a $ 100 custom orthotic insole ($ 450 Value) and assumed ‘Safi Sole’ was an orthotics place or perhaps a podiatrist. Whoops. Turns out its a large cosmetic supply store with inept employees and terrible customer service.
Had to ‘make an appointment’ which I did. On arrival I was ushered through a closed salon, past a velvet rope, into the back storage area where they were running some sort of mickey mouse operation for these discount insoles. There is NO WAY the these EVER cost $ 450.
Long story short: Didn’t have my size and the solution was to ‘go through groupon to get a refund.’ Ha! What a waste of time.

I have been going to this place for a years. The prices are reasonable. I have not really dealt with Sales Staff as i now exactly what products I am looking for.

I have been going to this place forever. Mrs. Moon (owner) carries a wide range of products for a variety of hair. She has a fantastic range of Japanese and Korean hair care products as well as great prices on top of the line hair care. When you first enter the store, things seem to be jumbled around the place, but if you are looking for good prices and a wide variety to choose form, this is the place. The sales staff are not that knowledgeable. Speak with Mrs. Moon if she is there — she will guide you as to what the best product is. If her staff were more knowledgeable, I’d give the place a five for variety, quality and price. I don’t care about the jumbled looking place.

Complete and utter assholes! Rude on the phone. Would not answer a simple question about carrying a L’oreal product. Said it was a «sensitive product» — whatever that means. However, if I was a hairstylist then I would have gotten a different answer.
And to top it off got hung up on! Had to call back to tell him off. Not sure if its a cultural thing but here in Canada people are NICE — something these shop owners should learn from.
Anyone have suggestions for better stores in Toronto area that actually care for their customers? I’d pay more for better service.

I went here for a purpose to find a specific OPI nail polish. They had a great selection of new and updated colours and I was able to find one similar to what I wanted for a great price. The cashier there was nice and I had no issues. The store is huge with tons of hair and beauty products so it was very overwhelming but after searching the city, I was glad someone recommended this place as it got me closer to my product than any other store in the city.

Today I went to cosmetic world to buy my usual Schwarzkopf purple hair dye and the lady working said she didnt have it. Everyone there was so uncaring and rude thinking i was some kind of idiot. Not even trying to recommend something else. I will never be back. this place is a dump and the people there should be fired… customer service much?

Employees are rude, they never say thank you, never try to help you, except for one guy that seem to be the exception.
I saw the manager (the one with acne scars on his face) being soooo rude with a custumer !
I’ve decided to never go back to this place again.
To avoid absolutely!!! Better buy online and have good and respectful service!

This place can be very hit or miss depending on which sales associate you speak to. Some are extremely rude, others are relatively nice. Overall though, I have not found many of them to be very knowledgeable about beauty products, specifically hair colour products.
My first visit was an absolute nightmare and without a doubt, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever endured. I approached a woman with a giant cow-​ring dangling from her septum and stated that I was interested in either a semi– or demi-​permanent colour in a bright copper red. She just made a face at me and said, «Really? That would look absolutely horrible on you. And when you decide you don’t want that colour anymore, it will be impossible to get rid of.»
Now, I have been dying my hair bright red for almost the last 10 years. I have had every colour imaginable, and red is the colour that suits my complexion, and personality, the most. I have had salon stylists, friends, and strangers compliment my red hair repeatedly. However, regardless of her opinion — why would she deter me from buying their products? Just… stupid, stupid sales tactics, if any. When I pressed her that I still wanted a bright red copper dye, she rolled her eyes and pointed to, I am not joking, a bright purple colour. WTF? I left at that moment seething.
Now, for my second visit, I researched what dyes they had prior to going in, and there happened to be a woman there who was the opposite of the woman I encountered before. She was very nice, attentive, and relatively helpful although, after questioning her, her knowledge proved to be limited.
My advice for people going to this store (if you have to go to this store — the only plus, is that the products are cheap) — have a very good idea as to what specific products you need before going in. DO NOT go in expecting to be helped! If you’re looking for helpful service, avoid this place at all costs.
I know quite a few hair stylists that swear by this store, ONLY because: 1) it’s cheap, 2) they are knowledgeable themselves and therefore they don’t have to deal with the sales staff.

I try to limit my visits to this place. I still haven’t completely overcome my addiction to products so this shop is pretty overwhelmingly full of temptation. There are bottles of shampoo and conditioner as far as they eye can see, all pretty colours and amazing promises. I always want them all. Sigh.
They seem to have pretty much every product from every brand you could want. The prices aren’t particularly cut price but are fairly standard. The staff kind of leave you to your own devices in general which I really like but are helpful if you do have a question. They’ll know which curl gel to recommend out of thousands of potion bottles in there if you describe the kind of thing you want!
I also went here to buy my hairdryer. I’d been using a Parlux at home in Ireland and found it good on my unruly mop. They’re expensive dryers but I reasoned that it was better to buy a good one once instead of buying and discarding multiple useless ones. The guy who helped me that day was great! He was patient and went through various brands and dryers with me. I never felt pressured and he really didn’t try to force anything on me. I ended up buying a Parlux again and it’s worked beautifully. If only I had a tame hairdresser to use it on me every morning!
This would definitely be my go-​to place if I wanted a particular product. They have everything! Watch out for the fugue state that you slip into while browsing the shelves. It’s all too easy to end up with a bag full of goodies!
