Cosimo’s does fantastic haircuts! They are very friendly, welcoming and professional :-) They are deeply rooted in the heart of the Junction and have been a family business there for generations. I don’t let anyone else touch my hair! Keep up the good work 2 Thumbs up!

I have shopped around to all of the salons in the Junction/High Park/Runnymede area and this place takes the cake. They took me in as a walk in for a cut and dye and at about $ 30 less than other salons who were rude and very unwelcoming.

Fantastic price and I have always been happy with my cuts and styles. I consistently get my hair cut here and have also had a number of updos and more intense stylings. They’re incredibly accommodating and have fit my unorganized self in for last minute appointments countless times. Everyone I’ve directed their way has been equally happy with the results.

Good price and friendly trio of hair cutters. Process: you just go in and have a seat and they mentally record your number.

Best in the market, I highly recommend this place. 5STARS! I have been going to these guys for years and they are great. They do an absolute fantastic job, very low prices and A+ customer service. Dominic, Tony and of course Cosimo are the best in the industry. I love listening to how Tony and Cosimo have been cutting hair for so many years and they still have so much respect for each other and their customers… Dominic is the handsome young man who never stops smiling. This place also does a great job with ladies hair as well. Ana is one our favorite and she is so talented and proficient at her job. The salon is spotless clean with beautiful hardwood floors, open concept and very accessible by transit and car. Plenty of free and paid street parking around too. Highly recommend Cosimo’s Hairstyling for all your special occasions too :)

Cosimo’s has been around The Junction forever in different locations. I have had my hair cut here on a number of occasions. Hair cuts are fairly priced and well done. I give the place three and a half stars because it is old school in both good and bad ways. You may really like it, or not. I know this is a risk because I plan to return, and they do have lots of sharp objects. 1. Everyone here knows how to cut hair, but the place mainly caters to men. This is highlighted by the bikini calendar they will do each year around Christmas. 2. The place relies on customers who have come in here for years. Therefore, you may hear fun stories about old times, but may also hear or overhear negative remarks about particular groups of people, such as gays or any group that is perceived to lack a strong work ethic. 3. The place is not super clean or organized to cater toward newer customers. It is an old style barber shop that’s too busy cutting hair to fuss over particulars. 4. The person cutting your hair may also be answering the phone or taking care of other business. Once is ok. Multiple times is a bit off-putting. 5. The price of a cut for men(18 $) is reasonable. 6. They are flexible with walk-ins, as long as you don’t care who cuts your hair. I like the place, but wanted to share more of the ins and outs.

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. My style has changed, but there’s still only one person I’ll let near my head or my throat with a blade… ok, two people. Very kid friendly(they were used to it 20 years ago when I was young, they’ve only gotten better), big bang for your buck as for cut and style goes. I only did the hair dye once, good results, but just not me so I’ve left it alone ever since. For women, my mother’s been going there for at least a decade or more and is always happy, especially the past 5 years or so. I think it’s the blonde stylist she really likes, I’m not sure.

This salon is the worst I have ever been too, unless I was a male!!! Dominic(the owner’s son) is incompetent when it comes to cutting women’s hair. He should just stick to being a barber, as no woman wants a BARBER to cut their hair! The girls he hires are not any better. They should think of becoming barbers as well. It caters to males«a Man’s world» environment. The prices are not any less expensive then a higher end salon but there the price quickly becomes a rip off! They don’t know how to texturize or cut. When they style it they are not fooling anyone — a bad cut will always be a bad cut, no matter how well you style it!!! I think I’ll recommend it for my dog grooming next time it needs a cut… hmmm. .

This is the first time reviewing a hair salon however I thought that someone should least mention this long standing Junction establishment. Cosimo’s has been in The Junction for roughly 40 years(so I have been told). They developed a following or regulars though great service and reasonable prices. They also love walk-in customers and the typical wait has been from 1 — 10 minutes. I have had my hair cut by both Tony and Dominique. But cuts were excellent. Both finished my hair using hot shaving cream and a straight razor… old school and totally amazing. This is truly a testament to the old way of trimming and shaving. The décor is decent. The barber chairs recline completely if you request a mustache or goatee trim and they swept numerous times while I was there. It is clean, well lit and one of the few places that I trust my hair to. I recommend this hair salon to everybody that lives nearby.
