College Street Optical

I recommend this place for children’s glasses. I bought my daughter’s Lindberg glasses here because her paediatric ophthalmologist recommended this store for their extensive experience with children. They have a location within Sick Kids Hospital. Her prescription of +9 for each eye is so strong we needed very light titanium frames to compensate for the heavy lenses.
We did some shopping around and not a lot of places offered a 2 year guarantee but College Optical did (for the Lindberg frames that I bought, I’m not sure about other brands). She’s 5 years old so naturally she broke them after 18 months of getting them. The titanium wire along the top broke and they replaced it with a new wire for free. Not the entire frame was replaced, but it’s certainly better than having to buy a new set of frames.
It was inconvenient waiting over a week for the new part as it was coming from Denmark and my daughter can’t see without glasses so I decided to get her a back up pair for future mishaps and did some more shopping around. Another store was selling the exact same frames and lens for $ 350 more! I will stick with College Street Optical in the future. The service was excellent, owners and staff are friendly and wonderful to deal with but the clincher for me are the prices.
