Tried the chocolate chicken 2-piece; it comes with tater tots and a tiny bit of coleslaw. I also got the Louisiana spicy sauce to go with it. The chicken itself did not really taste chocolatey — just tastes like fried chicken. However the chicken was really good. Fried really well, served hot, crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside so they get points overall for that. The sauce was really good but I could have done without the coleslaw — it was the vinegary type. I don’t think I would stand in a long line for the meal but if I did I would probably just order their regular fried chicken.

This was all the rave last year, with a line that went on for days. This year it wasn’t very long, so we figured we’d give it a try. Their biggest sale last year was the Chocolate Chicken, so we figured it would be worth at least a try. We ordered the Cocoa Bites, which is essentially popcorn chicken covered in chocolate powder. In my opinion, it tasted like fried chicken, but with a slight bitter hint to it because of the cocoa. With the sauce that came with, we got the Chocolate Ketchup. Essentially, just chocolate sauce and ketchup mixed together, making it kinda taste like sriracha without the kick. Overall, not something I’d eat again, especially since it was $ 9.00. Maybe give it a try if you really want…
