I came in yesterday(Thursday) around noon time and I was attended to right away after picking a colour. I was only going to get a pedicure but it was only $ 35 for a mani-pedi so I figured why not(Although initially I thought it was only $ 30 like the other salons in the area)? I would give their colour selection 2.5 stars because they didn’t have a nice range of colours and some looked like they needed to be tossed out plus I found it hard to see all the colours especially the ones that were placed on the highest shelf— perhaps they could replace the ones they have with see-through shelvings? For the service, I’d give the girl who did both my manicure and pedicure a 3.5 because she was very attentive and thorough, plus the actual paint job isn’t streaky and isn’t chipping the day after. Compared to other nail salons I’ve reviewed(Spring Nails on Bloor & Euclid and Tiffany Nails on St. Clair), although I would have preferred getting my manicure done where I am sitting across the nail technician and not on the massage chair with the nail technician rushing and doing a shit job on my manicure to maximize profit(Spring Nails), I did appreciate it when the nail technician brought the dryer to me so I didn’t have to move over to a less comfortable chair to wait for the polish to dry and possibly ruining it on the way there. They also have a card where after 10 visits of a minimum of $ 15 per visit, you get the 11th service free(worth $ 15). I also got a $ 5 voucher towards a $ 35 service, which is better than nothing. I would definitely come back so hopefully they have improve their colour selection!

I wanted really badly to like this place but I was seated after waiting fifteen minutes and then promptly forgotten about for 30 minutes. True story. I was given a bowl to soak my hands in, then the lady went and worked on someone else… she only paid attention to me when I got up and left saying now she was done. I can’t speak to the quality of the work they do, but their service was really quite bad. If i hadn’t been seated, someone else would have taken me for my manicure. Given that it’s run-of-the-mill, I can surely find comparable places elsewhere.

I was here 3 times last month as I bought 3 coupons on group buying websites for shellac manicures. I came twice for a shellac mani and regular pedi, and once for just a mani. Honestly, for the rates I paid($ 25, and $ 14) This salon is fine. However, I would NEVER consider coming to Chic Nails and paying anything more. I guess they know their worth as last time I was at Chic Nails they were offering shellac manis for something like $ 10 or $ 15 with purchase a pedicure. The salon is clean, but dingy. The massage chairs are run down and barely work. The shellac colour selection is vast, however the shellac manis I’ve had from Chic have all chipped within five days. At other, more high-end places, a shellac mani lasts two weeks. Also, Chic charges $ 5 to remove shellac — an annoying hidden fee. If there is a groupon or something for Chic Nails go for it, otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this salon and I won’t be going back.

Excellent business! Not sure whats up with the low stars, this place is 5 stars ALLTHEWAY! Very clean, very friendly. If you’re in the neighborhood looking to get dolled up, stop by Chic Nails and let them beautify you! As for the reviews here that are giving low stars because of the Asian workers, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves. Welcome to America, the great mixing pot.

This place is ok. It seems clean, though its quite cluttered, good range of shellac and gel colours. $ 37.00 inc tax and tip for take off and shellac mani. I’ve had my shellac on now for 3 and half days and its already chipping, the sides of my nails are all ‘wobbly’ and the colour is painted to my cuticle at a different length on each nail which looks silly. I asked for round, I got square. Those sort of things. Also, one nail had a giant bubble in it and she got irritated when I asked to have it fixed. We went late in the day and the volume of the staff, who were all sitting on the pedicure chairs gossiping to each other, was so loud my friend and I were basically shouting at each-other until the Mother Goose of the salon said something to them and they all quietened down. It’s ok, but there are much better places around the same area.

This review is for waxing only. I’m sorry if this sounds stereotypical, but I abhor walking into Asian salons since 1) they never speak English around you and this makes me extremely uncomfortable, and gives me the feeling that I’m being hustled 2) I cannot understand them when they speak English 3) The service is almost always terrible Still, this is the closest salon to my place and waxing emergencies sometimes arise. On such an emergency occasion, I got my eyebrows and upper lip waxed, and the woman did a terrible job. That’s the short and long of it. Luckily, I’ve discovered that Dufferin Mall nearby has threading services available, so I’ll opt for that next time.

Nice pedis for $ 25. Plethora of colours to choose from and they last about 3 weeks. Very clean and friendly, chatty ladies work there.

Came in initially to fix a broken nail and decided to come back for a refill. Long story short: called ahead to make an appointment, came early and they made me wait 40 minutes then when I finally saw someone she nicked me twice. Couldn’t take it anymore as time was of the essence, so I left after to paint my nails at home. A wee bit disappointed as the quality of service was nowhere near my expectations.

I visited this nail spa back in November 2011 and should say, I’d rather get a PAP then visit some of these sketchy nail places but I don’t always have the patience to wait for a spa appointment or the time to devote to it, so I ended up here because it’s close to me and I was short on time. I was expecting a quick but decent pedicure service with no frills. I was the first person in at 11am on a Saturday and before I knew it, half the seats were taken. People who came in after me for the same treatment, simple pedicures, were finished before me. I had an afternoon flight that day so it was important to keep it under an hour. Even though I had told them I was in a hurry and needed to keep it to an hour, it ended up being closer to 1 ½ after drying time for just a pedicure. Unfortunately I was given a bad esthetician, «May», who worked slowly, yelled at the other women working there and managed to cut the delicate skin on top of one of my small toes while sloppily exfoliating with the brush. How she managed to cut the top of my toe isn’t that surprising, actually. She was not looking or paying any regard to my feet as she worked. I might as well been an object and not a person with a foot full of nerves. I had to bandage the toe up and use A LOT of antibiotic ointment before getting on my flight a few hours later. The massage and cleaning portion was rather painful because of the cut too. She was rough to say the least. I think the other estheticians were probably better since they had the other patrons done faster than me but who knows. Even though this place is cheap and they take walk-ins, I won’t be returning.

I came in here one day looking for a mani/pedi. The name caught my eye, it’s really cute. I was greeted by a very nice girl who told me to choose a colour and then lead me to be seated in those huge massage chairs. The service was really nice and she did a great job. I get really irritated when they cut you or file on your skin, but she was so expert that I actually dozed off for a minute. They were fast and the service was really genuine, I’ll definitely be back. P. S. Ask for Jessica, she’s a sweetheart :)

They have never failed to make at least one toe and/or finger bleed, and I don’t think anyone there has ever smiled at me. Nope!

I have no idea how this place managed to get 4 stars from three people. My husband and I went in a couple of weeks ago after reading the great reviews on Unilocal. We were sorely disspointed when we first went in as there was absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever. Nevemind though, we each just wanted an affordable mani-pedi. So we got in sat down and the women went to work. By the end of it, both of us had been cut 2 or 3 times each — and I think both women just hoped we didn’t notice. The polish jobs on my hands and feet were sloppy and my husband ended up with an infection from the cut on his thumb. We will not be returning to Chic Nails.

Noticed this place while I was strolling on College Street, walked in and had a great pedicure… I decided to go back the 2nd time around and walked away with a bleeding toe ouch! She took the cuticle clean up a bit too far, she felt really bad BUT alas what you gonna do. My nail polish stays on without chipping for at least a month(could it be that I take in my own nail polish hint! hint!) Would l go there again — YES Price — Inexpensive Recommend to Others — YES

I’m certainly not the type of lady who has a standing weekly appointment for a mani-pedi. However, in the summer months, I do like to keep my feet looking presentable. Also, it’s nice to treat oneself to a manicure occasionally before a special event or just for fun. I recommend Chic Nails because even though the nail services are fast and cheap, the place is very clean and they do a really good job. Anytime I’ve gone to one of the more glamourous and pricey nail bars(the ones on Queen West come to mind), I’ve regretted it. At those places, I find you’ll get only a halfhearted buff of the feet which you could have done yourself at home. At Chic Nails, you’ll get the full scrub and peel treatment, which is the reason for the whole exercise in my opinion. Open at 10 am, closed at 8:00 pm(Fri + Sat at 8:30, Sun at 7:30) A spa pedicure costs $ 25 at present Choose from dozens of O.P.I. nail polishes While you lounge in a massage chair, the big screen TV entertains with concert DVDs of Britney, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Steps and Viet-pop
