Bond Place Hotel Downtown Toronto

The location and price of this hotel make it a gem. This hotel is located near everything you would need to see or do. There are tons of restaurants and places to shop at within steps of the hotel.
The size of the room wasn’t too bad. You get a fridge, coffee maker (with coffee), a hair dryer, soaps/​shampoo, tv, and alarm clock with a iPhone 30 pin charger built in. Many people commented on the privacy of the sliding door for the bathroom, but seriously, you’re already sharing a bed with the person you’re with. The style of furniture was «IKEA like» so it wasn’t high quality, just trendy.
The lobby was modern and had arm chairs and tables to sit at. At one point, we got a quesadilla from a place across the street, brought it back, and ate it at the table in the lobby. (The quesadilla wasn’t that good so I wouldn’t do that again.) I liked the safety features of the elevators. You needed to swipe your room key to get the elevator to move.
We have already discussed going back to stay at this hotel because the location was fantastic, the price was right, and the room was decent.

Nice, Although Small, rooms in a remodeled building. The staff is exceptional, as well as the location right next to Dundas Square which is similiar to NYC’s Times Square. The rates vary so try and get the best price online. The downside is only one restaurant that is Always empty, the small rooms and sometimes loud hallway. The Concierge, I think her name is Kate, is Excpetional!

so i went to see the day manager and he explained it was a big misunderstanding and that i could have a refund on my credit card because the whole reservation was cancelled so why pay for no service i was a very nice man and the women that was on the phone to me just stood back in shock because she throught i wouldnt get my money like i say go to the top manager and you get the service its not about her its about custmer service so im glad everything worked out because im happy that the main thing

Booked this hotel last minute last Saturday. The hotel was a bit pricy but the rooms were really clean. The room we had came to 230 for 4 of us. There was only one queen bed in the room and one pull out sofa. The only thing that annoyed me about this hotel was that on checking out they made us wait for 5 mins so someone could go check the room incase we damaged something. That was kind of embarrassing as they didn’t seem to be doing that to anyone else. I guess because it was two young couples they thought we would destroy it. So silly! But apart from that the staff were friendly and the rooms clean. It was exactly what we needed for one night stay in Toronto. We could even see Sunday’s square from our window!

Cool place, very young but still clean, at least on the higher floors. The receptionists are very helpful. The city is right outside and there are tons of things to do. The room was clean, smaller than the pictures though.

Our room was bigger than I thought it would be, so that was cool, and the location was great.
But there was a charge for Wifi and it was spotty at best, so we often just went to the «business center» which was really just a few computers in the lobby. No printers. If you’re in Toronto on business and you need to do work on a digital device at this hotel, you might have a few challenges.

Gretchen P and I needed an inexpensive place to stay for a night in Toronto, and everything was booked up, or the prices were inflated due to the PanAm games. We found the Bond Place Hotel on HotelTonight, and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The front desk staff were kind and while the lobby is quite small, it was pleasant enough.
You need to swipe your key to use the elevator, which is a pet peeve of mine, but I suppose it’s a safety precaution. Our room was small, but clean and tidy, and while it was very basic, it was exactly what we needed. A queen size bed and a pull out couch that was surprisingly comfortable. The sliding door in the bathroom is a bit odd, but I understand it saves space.
We got a package that included wifi, but if you don’t, you do have to pay. This place seems to be a gathering spot for a bit of a rowdy crow, as we did hear several party animals on our floor.
The location is fantastic, which lots of options for food and entertainment nearby. Our room has a wonderful view of the city as well.
If I was looking for a low-​cost option in the city, I would certainly stay here again.

I reserved this on a whim, through Expedia, and thought I was getting an okay deal in comparison to other hotels. After spending a night here, I wish I had spent the extra 30 $ for a better hotel.
My room looked like the photos, only shoebox-​sized. Tiny.
The décor is modern-​cheap. Lot of fake wood with sharp angles and bright colors. From afar, the room looks great, but there’s certain big things like peeling wall paper and a backed up bathtub that make it hard like this hotel.
Didn’t really spend too much time in the hotel except for sleeping, but it sucked to get back to your hotel after a long day and discover you can’t shower. When I called the front desk in the morning, they tried to offer a different room and offer us the gym shower, but by 9am i just wanted to get out of there.
The location of this hotel was fantastic, I’ll give them that. Customer service was ok too. It’s the awful quality of everything in this hotel mixed with the shoebox-​sized rooms that make this hotel not worth the price.
Also, charging for wifi — really?

Excellent location. It’s on a busy street so a little noisy but nothing a little music can’t cover. loved the hardwood floors. the room is small but for a great location not too small, the towels are sad but the provide a bathrobe which is v nice. only one lobby computer and no bar however there is one across the street.

Stayed here for 7 nights for a conference. The reality is not as fancy as they show on their website. I booked a double standard room. It’s was very small. No airport shuttle. The location is great though, 1 min to subway and tons of restaurants in walking distance. Fortunately my wifi was included but they didn’t tell me when I checked in. They told me when I was going to buy the wifi. No fedex or business center where you can print stuff. One restaurant inside of the hotel. The service was horrible. I was standing there for 5 mins and nobody came to me. I just left. Cleaning lady did a good job to the room everyday. There is a small refrigerator which helped me to keep some milk and beverage inside. Towers are fine. 3-​star is a reasonable rating to me considering the room rate is overpriced.

As for its location, its great. Just off Dundas Sq by the TV studio you are located within walking distance of all main amenities of downtown and somewhat beyond. The Eaton shopping centre, tim hortons, starbucks, mcds, cineam, subway, tram network, st mikes hospital, a 10 min walk to the gay village and probably just under a 30 min stroll to the CN Tower.
Although not inviting from the outside, The inside lobby area is modern as was my room. With very accurate and modern climate control (essential mid-​winter and mid-​summer), wooden floor, modern bathroom and a good LCD TV even if it did have a poor selection of channels.
The room was cleaned every day and bed linen changed too. Towels were a little small but did the job!
If the price is right then you won’t be disappointed with this place, but its not exactly worth a high end boutique hotel price. As for rating its worth a 3 ½ stars, but not quite 4. Another reason is that I was here for 10 nights on business and wifi was NOT included, so had to be purchased. In this day and age, wifi should be included as a basic commodity, hence I only stay in hotels myself that offer this when I am paying the bill.

I’ve seen the price jump since I went here, or maybe I just got a good deal. I don’t think I would have liked this hotel if I paid as much as I see some people have.
Positives — location is great. You are right near Yonge/​Dundas Street, Eaton Shopping Centre, and the trams/​buses. The hotel was renovated a few years ago and the interior has a very modern look to it. The rooms were very clean. I loved my room and found that the bed was extremely comfortable to sleep on. Concierge was helpful and allowed me to store my luggage with them on my last day there so I didn’t have to walk around Dundas Square with all my bags.
Negatives — the hallways can get noisy late at night with people coming in from a night of partying — this did not bother me but I could see it affecting light sleepers. Also, although I loved the design of the rooms, they were pretty small in size. Again, this did not bother me but I could see it bothering others.

3.75 for sure, in terms of overall room cleanliness and hotel location. So so so convenient to many food options, shopping and subway/​streetcar…
Just the rooms are tiny, and hardwood floors. Usually people like to walk on carpet haha. Free wifi is possible if you ask for it, and probably depending how long you stay. At $ 100 a pop, not much to complain.
The concierge is fantastic and helpful, and even print out Google maps with no hesitation.
And asking them to call the cabs is a breeze.
Free wifi.
But their workout area is just average.
Decent lobby sitting area, more contemporary style.

This is a great/​friendly hotel with tidy — modern rooms. I really like that it’s so close to Downtown without any noise or hassle!

My rating for this hotel is somewhere between a 2 star and 3 star. It wasn’t the best hotel experience I have ever had, but it also wasn’t the worst.
I had purchased a Wag Jag voucher which stated that along with my room I would be receiving complimentary parking, complimentary wifi, and a 2pm check out (availability permitting). When I called a few days in advance to confirm I was informed that 2pm checkout would cost an additional $ 50, which I personally thought was outrageous.
Overall, the hotel itself is very nice. It has a very modern design, and you can tell it has been recently renovated. The location is perfect, you are literally less than a 5 min walk away from Young and Dundas. As for the appearance of the exterior of the hotel it looks a little rough, but the inside interior makes up for it.
The rooms are very nice, new and modern looking. I wouldn’t necessarily say its too small, but space is definitely limited. The beds are comfortable, and extra pillows are provided. The washroom is nice and clean, however as mentioned in other reviews the washroom door is a sliding door, so it never fully closed but since it was just my boyfriend and I this didn’t really cause any problems. However, the toilets are extremely loud when the flush, so much so that we could hear toilets flushing in other rooms.
Which brings me to my only major complaint about the hotel, the rooms are not really sound proof at all. We could hear people all night long both in the hallways and in their rooms. At one point there were even two people standing outside my hotel room door, not exactly sure why but its kinda weird knowing that everyone can hear you even when you’re in your room with the door locked. Eventually everyone did quiet down but it wasn’t until much later on at night.
Overall, I might come back here agian if I purchase another wag jag, for the price I got it wasn’t such a bad place, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again if I had to pay regular price.

«Intimate room yet with an „Ikea“ flair»
Do note the parking space is located across the street «Dundas St.» underground level. We booked a standard room, definitely bantam in size but elegantly furnished. The mattress is well endowed with layers of fluffy materials!!! Unequivocably a positive experience.

Despite the below average reviews, we had an awesome stay here! Just an FYI, this is a «no frills» hotel, so there’s no spa or bellhop service, but they do have an adjoining restaurant as well as room service. This is the type of hotel you would just sleep, shower, and change your clothes. There’s also a gym if you would like to get a quick workout in during your stay.
The outside of the hotel and the hallways are outdated, but the rooms were modern (for the most part) and clean. The rooms reminded me of NYC — — they were small but the space was utilized well. WiFi isn’t included with the room and costs $ 10/​day. (I have an international data plan so I didn’t need it) As other reviewers mentioned, the bathrooms have sliding doors, but it wasn’t a huge problem for me. Check-​in was swift and friendly, (they allowed us to check in 2 hours early) and they also provided us with a map of downtown Toronto. Housekeeping was also very courteous and always asked us if we needed anything for our room whenever we ran into them in the hallways.
The location itself is 5 stars. It’s located literally 100 feet away from Dundas-​Yonge Square, which is basically the Times Square of Toronto. There’s a variety of different restaurants to dine at, shopping (you’re about 200 feet away from Eaton Center Mall), and tons of street entertainment. You’re 150 feet away from the subway station and cabs are plentiful in this area as well.
This hotel is totally worth it for the price and the location. I would definitely stay here again!

I was only in Toronto for 16 hours, so I didnt spend TOO much time in the room or hotel, however, the time I did have there I was VERY pleased.
Its centralized to all the hot spots downtown, its clean and very beautiful.
When I got there, my first encounter was with the front desk staff.
I cant explain how friendly and helpful they all were. With their descriptions and suggestions, they were outstanding.
Especially, Zia. He goes above and beyond customer satisfaction.
I tried to sign on for the wifi and when I called the front desk for the access code, I was told they gave away all the codes and for me to call tech support.
I was, at first, a little bit annoyed by that, but the phone call was super quick, very easy and the person on the other end helping me was a true professional at his craft.
I was wifi’d up in 5 minutes.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a great room, very comfortable and reasonable rates and I will definitely be checking in again upon my next visit to Downtown Toronto.

If you are under 30 this place is for you. If you are over 30 and expect a nice relaxing place — not for you.
There was lots of action happening in the hallways so if that kind of noise bothers you then you should also reconsider. It wasn’t a problem for us but I imagined myself staying there with my mom and her locking the doors and not wanting to come out.
ROOM:
We arrived and the staff was really nice. We were even a little early and they let us check in with no problem.
Our room was fine for the most part. I really, really, really dislike when the beds do not have fitted sheets. When I pulled the top sheet it took off the bottom sheet that lays on top of the mattress and there were a few «hairs» that were stuck to the mattress and that was not a fun thing to see. PLEASE GET SOME FITTED SHEETS because ewe…
As others have noted about the bathroom door —it is a sliding door with NO privacy but I didn’t care because I was with my boyfriend who I live with so we are used to no privacy.
LOCATION:
The location you can’t beat! I don’t know why people said its not in a nice neighborhood… what do you expect its a city … and where do you live in the woods?! It’s seriously right down the street from Dundas Square, a happening tourist spot and there was not a time I didn’t feel safe. If people are referring to the one homeless person we saw one day outside the door than get over yourself.
THE WIFI SITUATION:
SOOO bizarre that wifi is not included. It’s everywhere else in the city… give me a break! Customers should not have to pay for that. BUT there is free wifi in the Dundas Square so you can go there if you need to use. It is also practically at every business we went to.

PROS
This place is located 2 minutes from the Dundas subway station, which is super convenient.
It’s 2 minutes away from the Toronto Eaton Centre, the super mall.
The room was clean with hardwood floors.
Cheap rates (probably because we came off peak in January).
CONS
The bathroom — sigh. The door is not really a door. It’s like closet sliding wood door (I wish we had the nice glass ones people are talking about). This sliding door did not lock, and it does not come even close to where you feel like you have any privacy. After sliding it «closed», there is still about 2 inches of space between the door and bathroom. So, you hear EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. Now, if you are traveling alone — no problem. If you are traveling as a couple who love each other no matter what — no problem. But, if you plan on sharing a room with a friend or grandmother — I don’t think so. The only good thing I can say is that we had very good ventilation.
Wifi — you will be charged $ 8.95 + tax (comes out to about $ 10) per day. Now, I don’t think this is okay. These days, free wifi is pretty standard — I’d rather you «hide» that charge in the room fee, rather charge me separately. It’s all about perception — and it’s not good when I have to shell out money for wifi, especially since I experienced issues with the Internet on/​off. If you are going to charge for wifi, it needs to work 100% of the time.

In order to use the elevator to go up to your room, you must use your room key in order for the elevator to work. Pro — security measure. Con — sense of security.
