Best Western Roehampton Hotel & Suites

Terrible customer service, night front desk manager needs to learn how to treat guests with respect and handle unforeseen situations a lot better. My situation eventually was handled but it took a lot of push back and I experienced a lot of profanity/​negativity as well when trying to explain the reasons for my discontent. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

Surprisingly I’m shocked at some of the reviews written. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and the amenities were great! The only issue I had was the heat not working but its the summer so a blanket and your fine, and I preferred a nonsmoking room and was booked to a smoking room which the front desk fixed immediately. The valet is absolutely amazing very generous open and friendly. Plus the breakfast buffets were everything in the morning! Mainly because my gf and I aren’t morning ppl so this was top notch to the start of each morning during caribana. two thumbs way up for me and if you read my other reviews you’ll know I’ll rip a company in half through reviews if they don’t service the public properly lol so this review is 100 legitimate

Kind staff and great pool.
I was very pleased with the location and everything it offered. Though I have other places that I favor and were booked out, Id definitely come back.

Where do I start? Booked a room last minute since our regular hotel was sold out.
Front desk showed minimal enthusiasm at arrival. We asked for a king bed but they gave us two twins (and an accessible room) Ok… The rooms are not well lit so the place just felt dingy. The carpet did not Look that clean, the bathroom was clean enough.
The bed was HARD. It felt like I was sleeping on a cardboard box. Now lets talk about the WIFI. Or should I say NO-​FI. Wifi was non-​existent. It kicked me off every 5 minutes nothing was more annoying. My boyfriend noticed my frustration and didnt even bother to sign on. Smart Guy :)
On the bright side, the room was cheap. They had washing machines so great for long term (although I wouldnt recommend that :/​).
Breakfast was free but the eggs were questionable. Stick with the potatoes, cereals an ea. At least those were real.

We stayed at this hotel because it’s close to our friend’s place in Toronto. The hotel is just ok, it’s not really good but it’s not terrible either. The positive is that it’s affordable and they do give you a free breakfast. Service is good too. If there was a better quality hotel in this area we would have stayed there but this was it. If you have to stay in this part of Toronto you’ll be ok staying at the Best Western Roehampton, otherwise stay downtown in a nicer hotel.

I stayed here for a few times already. Their room is clean and neat. The place is good, though they dont have good views from the window but its okay as long as their rooms are always clean neat smells good… ;) lol. *walking distance or only less than 5min by car — if u wanna eat at the restaurant or watch a movie and subway station as well.

This review may be on the harsh side, but I have only stayed in one other hotel in the toronto area which was far better (and more expensive) than this place was.
The worst part of my two day stay here was the room itself. Let this serve as some advice to those of you who use priceline. Be sure to call the hotel immediately and request a two double bed room if thats what you want because when we got here the only two double bed room they had was a smoking room. They had by default put us in a king non smoking but that wouldnt have worked for us.
The stench of smoke in the room was overpowering, and even though we were staying for two days, they claimed there were no non smoking rooms left for the next night either. I typically don’t mind smoke, but the air in this room made my nasal passages burn and close up tighter than a nun’s butt.
That said, I liked this hotel because it is in a residential/​commercial neighborhood, outside of gimmicky tourist trap hell. There are soooo many restaurants nearby (many of which are thoroughly Unilocal reviewed) and this gives you a chance to eat what the locals eat. There is a supermarket, drug store, anything you could want within walking distance. I would LOVE to live in this neighborhood.
The valet parking is $ 16/​day, while a nuisance, it may be worth it. I parked in the public garage down the street which was really only $ 2 cheaper and you have to pay each time you come and go.
I thought the breakfast buffet was the one redeeming quality of the hotel itself. The ladies that worked the buffet were very pleasant and welcoming.
The hotel interior is a bit drab and there is only 1 ice machine on the 3^rd floor (the hotel is 8 floors or something). Oh and the WiFi while free is very slow and spotty.
I suppose for the cost you are getting what you pay for here, but still. I am so annoyed by the smell of the room I can’t give more than 2 stars!

I was actually quite pleased with this hotel. Best Westerns aren’t known for being fancy, and while the room was very basic, it was a very comfortable stay. The rooms have free wi-​fi, which is always a nice touch. It’s only about a 10-​minute walk to the Eglinton TTC station, and it’s close to several great restaurants on Mt. Pleasant (see reviews for Viva Napoli, Positano and Il Gelatiere.) The hotel has a nice gym with several cardio machines, as well as a weights station.
I had the buffet breakfast a couple of mornings, and while it was nothing to write home about, it was decent. I would recommend staying away from the hot items, as the eggs are pretty bland and the bacon was far from crispy, but the cereal, pastry, fruit and yogurt selection was pretty good. Great service in the hotel restaurant as well.
