The Bell Blue Room is a lounge on the third floor of the tiff Bell Lightbox hidden away and just for tiff members. I recently got my student tiff membership($ 40) which is a great deal especially since it comes with a free ticket to the Tim Burton exhibit which has a face value of $ 22, so I’m really getting the membership for $ 18. Most definitely worth it. It’s an «L» shaped lounge and you enter through a narrow hallway with one side completely taken up by huge windows facing King Street, and the bar area has a couple of couches and a wall mounted flat screen which was playing Burton’s Alice in Wonderland when I was there. The seats you want to be sitting on are actually along the window and have tables equipped with Microsoft Surface which I’ve not seen anywhere else yet. That was a big attraction for me despite only having chess, checkers and a couple of other games along with google maps and some movie related stuff. But it sure beats the hell out of having a normal table there. Each seat has it’s own mini table to actually hold your snacks and drinks to prevent you from having to place them on the Surface table. But there are only 2 such tables and they are usually the first to go. The snack menu is catered from the O&B Canteen from downstairs, which definitely has some great food items and it’s not cheap but that is to be expected and what you get back is probably worth it. You need to be a tiff member to attend the lounge(you can bring along one guest) and it’s a great spot to catch a drink, play some chess whenever you’re in the area. I know I will be definitely bringing people up here just because it’s such a great idea, I do wish they do a bit more with it and put in some seats because seating is definitly limited, but that would be an issue only during peak hours I assume. There’s also free wifi available!
