Just had an amazing time sitting at the bar for a pint with my fiancé The owner and awesome bartender was incredibly knowledgable with wines, oysters, made his own beer Overall a brilliant experience I’ll be back for food soon It looks amazing!

We started our evening with a platter of fresh oysters and a couple of pints of Sweetgrass ale. Staff delivered fast, friendly service on a super-busy holiday week evening when every table was full. Couldn’t have been easy to keep up with the biz but they made it look like fun. Will definitely return again.

My love affair with the PEI Mussels in stilton cream is as strong as ever! I have had this dish several times in the last few years and it never disappoint! The chicken drummies as also very good and are a family favourite. The atmosphere is great and so are the drinks. A consistent place to hang out not too far from home where you are always guarantee good service, great drinks and amazing food!

Gord and I had supper this evening at the Auld Spot Pub. They have a good selection of craft beer on tap. I ordered Chicken Drummies with honey hot sauce. They were okay. The sauce was sweet and had a bit of a bite. Gord ordered Mac ‘n Cheese. He said it was good. As he was eating it, though, he said that there was no bacon. So we asked our server about it and he said there should be thick chunks of bacon in it. Apparently the cook forgot to put it in. He knocked off $ 3 from Gord’s meal and gave him a free beer.

I stopped in for a beer. Nice atmosphere, but service was painfully slow. It was later in the evening and not too busy, so I’m not sure why it took so long to get served. I orderd a burger, it looked great but it was so dry. I’d pop in for a beer again, I’m sure service can’t always be that slow, not sure I would try any more food, I couldn’t finish my burger.

Excellent service, tasty bourbon sour and chicken drummies are an absolute must! A great place on Danforth to hang out.

On a rare outing to the Danforth(I really should end up here more often.), I consulted Unilocal for advice on where to eat. The Auld Spot ultimately won out for our dinner date. Loved the décor of this place — the lights across the ceiling along the tree branches made it look just lovely inside. It definitely comes across as a more upscale pub, which I would classify it as. The menu was fairly seafood heavy although there were items for non-fish people such as myself. I ultimately chose the pulled lamb sandwich, which I enjoyed but didn’t think it was amazing. I found it a bit messy and overloaded — slopping it around kinda detracted from the experience. My friend had the fish and chips, which she enjoyed. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner here and would come back if I was in the neighbourhood and looking for a pub. The staff were super friendly and always checking in on us. And the food was pretty good when it comes right down to it — messiness aside.

The Auld Spot is a good little pub. The servers are great(Nolan and Sabastian are the two dudes who always make me feel welcome)…the food is fantastic… and the drinks are great. I’m a big wine guy and they always seem to have a nice selection for a smaller joint. The ambience of this place is really good and it’s cool when they open up the front to the street during the summer. I recommend you stop here for some food and a bevy at least once

I really do wish that my current hometown, Denver, had more places like this. This is the ideal rectangular shaped bar, with tasty craft brews and friendly bar staff. It’s a must visit on your next time to Toronto. Do yourself a favor. Pony up at the bar, and have a conversation without looking at your cell phone. You will feel liberated, and you may even find out something new that isn’t attached to a hash tag. Be warned, for those of you coming from the US, beer is ****ing expensive in Canada. Oh, but it is oh so good. Can’t speak for the food on this visit, but I’m sure I’ll be back on my next visit.

We went there for a moms night out. There were 10 of us and although they had a full house, they managed to get us seated. They had lots of selection for drinks. We went in December and they had Christmas lights strewn on the ceiling. The ambiance was casual and hip. The service was friendly without attitude. I ordered the chicken drumettes as recommended by others. I asked for them to be made habanero hot. The order came promptly. The chicken was covered with a crispy coating and doused with a sweet and spicy sauce. There was no particular flavor to the chicken although they were crispy with a little heat, there was nothing memorable about them. Although the place is a great hang out, the food just didnt live up to my expectations.

Was visiting this restaurant in December ’14 with three of my friends. Our drink and dinner orders were taken quickly(within five minutes of arriving) but the experience went downhill from there. Our appetizer of Poutine arrived promptly and it was very good, but we then proceeded to wait around 40 — 60 minutes for our food; which arrived in two stages(two of us were served and then we had to wait another 5 minutes for the remaining two entrees). We waited so long for our meals that the waitress had came and taken back the condiments that had been placed on our table 30 minutes early. They probably thought we had eaten our dinners and finished already. Our waiter must have noticed that it had been a long while(I am assuming the kitchen just flat out forgot our order) because they brought a plate of complementary fries for our table. That was nice, but we had already had poutine and our entrees came with fries. Another helping of fries wasn’t really that appetizing or quelled our annoyance at being basically forgotten. Never asked if we wanted any refills on our beverages or checked on us. They asked if we wanted dessert but we didn’t feel like waiting another hour. We asked for the cheque. That took another 20 minutes to arrive at our table. The food was decent but the service was really pretty bad. I wouldn’t return and I doubt that anyone in our party would either. Very disappointed, Auld Spot.

The macaroni and cheese is very good(flavourful and nicely toasted on top), if just a bit pricey(base price is $ 15; add $ 3 for bacon and $ 3 for crab). My friend had a burger he said was also very good. I noticed that the bacon on it was properly cooked, which is something incredibly rare.

Great service, great food, but the size of the fresh ground pepper mill made me uncomfortable(too big)

Visited here for the first time today, after having passed it about a million times. We sat at a booth not far back from the open garage-type doors, which was fine because we weren’t directly in the sun but there was still some fresh air. Server took a while to greet us(appeared she was the only one working), but once she did the rest of service was pretty prompt. Some other servers came in to help soon after. Pretty good selection of beer and my boyfriend and I were happy to see they had Pommies cider on tap! We ordered a poutine with pulled pork, and a really delicious salad with chicken. I think it was called«fresh greens» or something. Both were VERY good, and pretty big portions as well. Was getting busy as we were leaving(about 7:00pm on a Thursday night), but the crowd was super diverse. Families with kids, older couples, younger couples, groups of girls etc. Overall, I liked the vibe and the food was good! I would visit again, although maybe not immediately since there are so many other places on the Danforth to choose from.

Went to the Auld Spot last night for the first time. It was busy. Loud. Service was friendly and then slow and then extremely prompt. I suggest ordering soon after you arrive. We didn’t. Perhaps that’s why we experienced the delay. I had an organic green salad which came with pickled beets and a delicious dressing. The oysters were also very tasty. I liked the blue walls and branches with lights on the ceiling. It was a bit loud for me, but all in all I had a good time. Also, the restrooms are very close together. When i was in the stall, I could so clearly hear a conversation between two men at a urinal I thought I was in the men’s by mistake. Something to think about ladies.

One of my favourites on Danforth. I live by the are and this is the go-to casual restaurant for drinks and good pub food. This place is good for 2 to 4 people. The Food — 4⁄5 –Chicken drummies are great — much more meatier than the average wings. –Southern Fried Chicken is also delicious and there was a lot more on the plate than I expected. Atmosphere — 4⁄5 –lively crowd of mostly 25 years and over –usually busy Service — 4⁄5 –I’ve been here a few times and have always had friendly service Overall, great service, good atmosphere, and yummy food.

Had a burger with Stilton and jalapeños. It was delicious. House ground burger cooked just right and the fries were delicious too. Solid selection of beer too. This is one of my favourite spots on the Danforth.

I like this place. I went one Friday night for a birthday and it was completely rammed, we were seated next to the door which got cold at times but the more beer you have, the less you notice. One of their cool branch decorations also fell, which was amusing. I had macaroni and cheese, which was really good — and I want it again. I also had Crème Brule for dessert, which I shouldn’t have since I was practically unconscious from eating already, but whatever man. It was awesome. They have a good beer selection and all the servers are really nice and helpful, and even put up with my bf’s long list of hamburger questions(his hamburger was fantastic, btw). I will return again for sure, and eat myself into another coma.

2.5 star Don’t sit outside on Auld Spot Pub’s Patio on the day before Garbage Pick Up Day! Drinking beer and smelling garbage from bins that were not covered up properly was not the most«wonderful» experience. I was lucky though in a way that the beer I ordered was available… so no complaints here. And the waitress was friendly enough…
