History
Established in 2005.
Artbarn School envisions itself as a welcoming, neighbourhood storefront that provides opportunities for all generations to engage in creative art making. It has developed to try to offer this to the North Toronto region through art classes of various types, skill levels and for different age groups.
Artbarn builds a community of artists, both learners and teachers, through a broad range of programming. We practice global art representing and respecting the art of many cultures. The staff is aware of and develops outreach activities within the community. We respect the need for a healthy environment and for being environmentally responsible.
Integral to our philosophy is providing scholarships to talented children who would otherwise not be able to engage in art making. Artbarn developed to be part of its community and this is one way we have adapted to allow accessibility.
