Was supper excited to check this out, our firends from montreal said the sister bar there was awesome. We will never be going or recommendig this place, we tried to make a reso and the person on the phone asked how many guys and how many girls and then sounded annoyed that we had 3 and 3. I thought this place is supposed to be chill not some douche bag bottle service bar that belongs on king west. Dont go.

$ 600 minimum for a reservation for drinks at 6:30pm(seriously?) and they also asked how many men, and how many women would be in my party… Are you… even allowed to ask that? Made me feel weird and uncomfortable. Shame because the one time I went there it seemed pretty cool and I was excited to go back with friends :( PS to the owners: those kind of requisites make it very easy for you to become a sausage party corporate bummer VERY fast.

Following the success of so many of their places, the dynamic Montréal duo(Zach Macklovitch and Nathan Ganage) opened up in Toronto, a copy of their hugely successful Apt.200 in Montréal. The concept is really simple — it’s a bar/lounge that looks like your apartment. You seamlessly transition between living room, dining room, kitchen, games room, etc. Cocktails are reasonably priced. Not special however. But a good place to drink earlier on in the evening. But… Even though this place has only been open a short while, the lineups are insane if you get there after 9pm… yes 9pm… and if you do, there’s a cover charge as well. For me personally, i’d never wait in line for this place, nor pay cover, nor abide by the mandatory coat check. It’s really a different vibe after 9pm. At which point it gets packed, gets filled with people wanting to be seen and bouncers getting frustrated. It’s an annoying crowd to say the least. Since coat check is mandatory, it also means if you’ve got to leave to go downstairs, you’re doing it without your coat. At the end of the day, this place will do well. There’s enough of a demand for the type of post 9pm crowd they’re attracting for let’s say the next 2 years. But if you’re looking for an upscale lounge or used to better service in general, this is definitely not the place. Funnily, this cozy apartment is really the home of the now closed swingers club ‘Wicked’. Let your imagination run wild with that one.
