I dropped by here to get some cheese for a mac and cheese recipe I was going to make. I told the person that I needed a sharp cheddar cheese and he gave me a funny look and said my recipe was suspicious — and this was a Cook’s Illustrated recipe! He went on to tell me why it wouldn’t work well and suggested another cheese. So who was I going to trust? A cook book recipe or a cheese monger who clearly knows his cheese? I had to go with his suggestion. We spoke for a little while and he was very passionate about his work which is nice to see. He was so helpful and informative that I would go back again in a heart beat. Just be prepared to drop some $$$ on this place.

You may already have already heard I am a cheese fanatic… so I don’t know how I missed the fact there is a great little cheese shop in my hood… shame, shame, shame! Alex Farm products is truly a hidden gem located underground(the Colonnade) on the very path I walk to get to the red rocket on a daily basis… Today I enjoyed the sunny weather and a rather smelly blue cheese and a large hunk of crusty bread — all I was missing was the wine… too bad I had to go back to work.
