Over half the people who work there are quite unpleasant, unfriendly and barely speak English. The only reason people go there including myself is cuz of the location, they are right on Yonge St near many condos. Otherwise no one will want to go back. I’ve been going there only to save time since it’s closest to me but I would never go there if I didn’t live close by. Even if they made a mistake by booking wrong time they won’t say sorry. Even if you’ve been going there for years their attitude never changes, treat you like a total stranger.

I moved to the downtown area in May and was happy to find a nail place close to where I live. I stopped by to inquire on pricing on shellac nails and was pleased they said only $ 35. That was the first time. I went back 2 ½ weeks later and my $ 35 was now $ 45. They charged me to remove my old shellac. I have never, ever, been charged to have my old shellac removed when I was getting Shellac put on again. This made no sense to me. They also charged me an extra $ 5 for French tip on my nails. Again, I have never been charged for this. They do a great job with manicures but their pricing is definitely off.

Discovered this place when looking for a nail-​place close to the PATH /​Union station that stayed opened past 6:30pm. The location at Yonge and just north of Lakeshore is really convenient (for anyone commuting out of Union station and working in the PATH). It’s a decent sized place with plenty of pedicure chairs and staff. I recommend making an appointment as I have been turned away before.

They have an awesome mani + pedi special for $ 40, which is unheard of in most places. I always get the standard mani and pedi and the results have been very satisfactory. The color choices are adequate too. Can’t comment on the more specialized services but it’s a great option for your standard nail treatment.

I go this this place every few months and I am always satisfied. They run a clean shop, they have attention to detail and they are friendly. I’ve always been happy with my nails coming out of here.
On a side note they usually will take 15 minutes to get you started so budget time for that.

Long story short got my nails done here 2 days later one broke i went to the salon to have it fixed and the day after another two broke and they charged me $ 18 to fix two nails not to mention she did a really horrible job. Theyre prices always change from what is written to what they say on the phone (if u know what i mean) its just not nice paying more then u should

I’ve been to this place before and had great shellac manicures (but this was 2 years ago). Went for a visit today and service was definitely not up to par. I made an appointment and ended up having to wait 15 minutes before someone helped me. Shellac manicure was done poorly and I had to ask her to redo one of my nails because the 2 layers didn’t even cover the nail sufficiently. There was also a spot on the tip of my third finger to which she responded «oh no one will see that»…
Polish was applied half heartedly (one nail has uneven sides).
Definitely not coming back for another shellac again

This used to be my go to nail salon. They charged a little bit above the prices of other nail salons but I thought that the service and colour selection were worth it.
I will never return again. Today, I was asked to pay an extra 5 dollars fee for shellac removal. This is ridiculous. The removal of your old nail polish should be included in the price. Other salons don’t have this extra fee.
Its extra insulting because I go to this salon regularly and now they are charging me an extra fees to remove the nail polish that they applied on my nails two weeks ago? No thanks. Way to treat regulars.

Don’t go here. I’m in town for work and I pop in for a manicure… After 36 hours the polish is chipping. So I go in and ask for them to re do my nails. Fair enough, right? Well it took four of them to discuss the situation (in a language that I am not familiar with.) I have to ask them to speak English so that I can comment; they kept going and going… Finally I was so upset that I walked out.
And no, I do not use my hands in my work (aside from shaking hands to greet people.) they are very very rude and certainly not fair.
And nine out of my ten nails are chipping.

Terrible experience. I went into the salon with gel nails that I was looking to get filled, but the «lady» wasn’t available, so I opted for removing them and getting a Shellac. I have had gel nails many times before, and had them removed just as frequently, and I have never experienced so much PAIN before. I should’ve just walked out, but the lady ensured it was going to be fine. It wasn’t. It burned to the point I had to pull my hand away from her and put it in cold water. I left disappointed, and in the coming weeks, it didn’t get better. It turns out she filed/​buffed off too much of the nail, and now I have had to let my nails completely grow out (still 12 weeks later, just past fully grown out) to have an even nail.
I will never recommend this place, and never go back.

I wanted to update my last review. Because of Nail Station’s crazy convenience to my home, I’ve tried it again a few more times and I’m a convert. I must have just gone on a bad day. The girls I’ve had help me since have been lovely and the price for a mani/​pedi (usually done at the same time by two different technicians) is about $ 45 so completely reasonable.

Love this place! Best shellac mani ever. So clean and professional. The only place I trust!

I have been to the Nail Station a handful of times. The girls working there are SO unfriendly and rude. I booked an appointment — not sure what the point was, as they kept me waiting for 30 mins. On top of that, I just got the worst pedicure of my life. It looks like a 3 year old with Parkinson’s applied the polish. And $ 30 for all that! Teaches me from straying from my favourite nail place in the city — M Nails.

Always have a great experience here, the girls are friendly and attentive providing a good level of service for reasonable prices and great selection of colours. Some language challenges with some of the staff but easy to work through.

I was staying temporarily at 16 Yonge, and popped into Nails Station on a whim on a Sunday afternoon for a mani/​pedi. I’ve never written a Unilocal review in my life, but feel like this salon deserved a shout out. The salon was clean, aesthetically pleasing, and quiet. I thought the nail technicians were professional and polite. I hate it when you can tell they’re just hurrying through your mani/​pedi. I felt like they did everything well, including a really nice leg and hand massage. I am writing this review a few days later, because I am so impressed with how long my manicure has lasted, and that nearly a week later, it still looks like I just got my nails done today. I have had no chipping. All in all, I highly recommend this place, and am sad that I’ve found permanent housing much further away from Nails Station!

i love this place to get my nails done! it is so well priced and the staff are very friendly and quiet — unlike some nail salons where the staff constantly speak amongst one another in foreign languages. the salon itself is well designed and creates a very relaxing environment — it is neat and tidy and nothing looks out of place. the salon is always kept very clean giving you a sense of comfort while having your service done — not to mention all tools come out of the sanitizer right in front of you before use and are immediately put back to be sanitized after use. i used to go here all the time but since i have moved it’s hard for me to get there. i have yet to find another salon as amazing as this. ***they also have an unbeatable mani-​pedi combo for around $ 30 (the massage chairs are an added bonus too)*** and they have a wide assortment of nail polish and shellac. i have so many great things to say about nails station, and thinking about it makes me really miss this place.

I used to really like this place…
i scheduled 8 of my girlfriends to go there for my best friends wedding. we ended up being 6 because 2 girls got sick and the manager/​owner was so mean. i think she wanted us to pay for the 2 girls that couldn’t make it. She was rude and charged us $ 60 for just a pedicure (shellac). We asked for the real price and it is not on their price list so they couldn’t justify the dramatic increase in price (normal pedicure in $ 30, so shellac is double???). Then they told us how they brought extra workers because it was suppose to be 8 girls, but instead of being nice and pointing it out they were all mean and ganged up on me as if I ruined their business. Honestly, I felt bad for the 2 girls cancelling but it was 6pm on a Tuesday and we actually gave them way more business than they usually have– on top of that they over charged us. I will never go back. The customer service is just terrible.

After lurking Unilocal reviews for this place since its opening, I finally took the plunge last weekend. I definitely agree with the previous posters — Nails Station is bright, clean and convenient, staffed with friendly, polite attendants and with decent prices for downtown.
After a friend raved about her recent Shellac manicure, I decided to try one out here, coupled with a regular pedicure. I popped in, no appointment, not quite 90 minutes before closing time on Sunday afternoon (after having called to find out their hours). It wasn’t too busy at all and I was seated right away, with one gal working on my mani while another worked on my pedi.
These gals spend a lot of time shaping and filing, with a nice bit of massage thrown in for both hands and feet (been to too many places with just a perfunctory *massage* that was basically the equivalent of what you’d do yourself when moisturizing). NOTE: by default, both attendants clipped cuticles. I don’t mind, so I didn’t say anything, but if you’re not a fan of this, be aware (and you can always ask that they don’t do it).
Heidi, who did my pedi, was especially friendly, chatty and diligent. We talked about Canadian history, the Pride parade and all the festivals Toronto has in the summertime! She was really interested since she came to Canada just a few years ago.
I brought my own colour for my toes, but chose a peachy Shellac they had for my hands. Hopefully, there will be more colours soon — there were about two dozen there available that day. Looked to be a good selection of regular polishes. Kudos to the attendants b/​c I keep my nails really short and they did a great, very clean/​precise polish job, even with the super-​dark polish I brought for my toes.
Was done in just over an hour.

Only been a few days, but everything is looking great. I’m really loving the Shellac as I’m pretty rough and usually have to be so careful to maintain a manicure.

For an under $ 20 mani, this place is amazing. They really take their time to buff, clean, shape and massage. There’s a huge selection of polishes and the manicure usually lasts a full week, which is really good considering how I treat my nails. The girls are friendly and the place is clean. It’s become my favourite spot for a cheap mani. Have yet to get a pedi but I will.

I have been here a few times for manicures since it opened. The place is bright and spacious, everything is sparkling clean. The staff are mostly Mandarin-​speaking Chinese and they are all very polite and helpful (e.g. you can pay before getting your colour done so you don’t chip your nails, they help you with your coat, purse, jewelery etc.). I’ve always been really happy with the results and find the manicures last pretty long. They have a good variety of colours and always have the latest OPI collections. The girls will help you pick a colour if you’re stumped. I’ve gone for polish changes between manis and for I think $ 10, they still do a lot of buffing/​filing, cuticle care, etc. compared to other places, where a polish change is literally just a polish change. I usually go with a friend, but there’s also flat screen TV’s and lots of magazines to choose from if you wish. I think they have been doing well, but it’s also nice that I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes when I walk-​in. One time, my friend and I came half an hour before closing and they still let us in and stayed open a bit later than usual for us. My friend also gets her eyebrows waxed here and has been pretty happy with it. They have a loyalty card, every time you spend over $ 15, you get a stamp and after 10 stamps you get $ 5 off a service. Pretty lame deal, so I don’t really bother. But the prices are very reasonable anyways ($ 18 for standard mani).

This place opened recently and is located at the street level of 18 Yonge condos.
I decided to check it out because they currently have a promotion where you get 15% off if you go on Monday-​Thursday between 11am and 2 pm. This is only on until the end of February 2011. My friend and I both had a day off, so we gave ourselves a little gift.
The service is very friendly. All the ladies that work there are so sweet, very nice and try their best to make you comfortable. I believe they’re mostly vietnamese. Half of them speak English fluently, the other half understand most of the time, but sometimes needs one of the others to help translate.
I got a french manicure and a french pedicure.
PRICE: With taxes, it ended up being around $ 42. It’s only $ 2 more for a french manicure versus a regular manicure and $ 2 more for a french pedicure versus a regular pedicure.
SERVICE: As I said, the ladies were so sweet and friendly from beginning until end. They even adjusted my chair for me! My only complaint would be that because they try to tend to more than one customer at a time, it took a pretty long time; we were there for around an hour and a half. So be prepared for them to leave you in between steps. I wasn’t in a rush, so it was okay.
«PRODUCT»: My nails looked great afterwards. I have a personal preference to have my nails square but rounded, so I had to file the edges a bit afterwards to round it off. Overall, I was very pleased with the results.
I’ve only ever had a manicure/​pedicure one other time in my life and that was at Blue Butterfly in Oakville. So this place is definitely not comparable in quality and service, but for the price, it’s definitely worth it. The only thing I am a little concerned with is the fact that they don’t use one-​time-​use things such as small nail files and small nail polish bottles like they did at Blue Butterfly. Is this how most nail salons do it?
All in all, I would go back next time I feel like getting my nails done for me.
