The Pie Man

I’ve been curious about this place for some time, I like pies and having a local business that makes all kinds of different pies is good in my books! I was in Thorold today so I remembered this place and decided to pop in to check it out because I had a hankering for some meat pies. First off it’s a pretty big place and has a VERY small inventory, they had hardly anything. I asked them if they make their pies in house because I was rather curious because of such a big space and very little inventory, basically I wanted to know if they had a production area to justify the space… I was told they get them from «Angus the Pie Man» in Beamsville and that they only do a few things in house and from what I saw that wasn’t much… I usually get my meat pies from Angus the Pie Man to begin with and all this place is doing is buying them from Angus and selling them to the public at a higher cost… Angus in Beamsville sells his at $ 3.90 and this place in Thorold sells theirs at $ 4.50…all that space an hardly anything made in house?! come on… that’s cheating I say and you’re trying to come off as some kind of hometown bake shop… you are all better off getting your meat pies from Angus in Beamsville for cheaper, it’s a bit of a drive but they’re awesome and it’s worth it!!!
