Heather is a born entrepreneur!

Thriving on the challenge of learning something new, wellness is the only common denominator between her three businesses. A Healthy Meal Delivery Service in her 20s, followed by an Eco Tourism Company in Central America in her early 30s, and now she combines her love of personal self care and yoga with the launch of OM Spa in November 2012 within the Thornhill Moksha Yoga studio where she continues to instruct yoga classes as well!

Heather has worked as a yoga instructor in the Yoga Studio Environment for the past 8 years under the MOKSHA YOGA umbrella — in Toronto, Montréal, Ottawa, and Trinidad &Tobago. She has also lived and taught in Panama and Ethiopia. She has been in the wellness field for 14 years.

Heather is also a Gestalt Therapist in Training having completed a 5 year psychotherapy training program.

She has an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree; Double Major: Criminology & Sociology; Minor: Gender Studies, University of Toronto

Finally decided to try OM Spa after buying a Groupon online and was happy I did.
The spa is so clean, smells fresh, and the staff is so nice. I also love the calming music they play in the rooms.
Rachel was very kind, and made sure I was comfortable during my appointment.
I’ll be back soon!

I go to spas and get massages regularly. The spa is ok. I had 2 facials there. The first one wasn’t very good. The actual facial was ok but for the rest of that day and night, I had a sore neck from the neck massage (I had no neck problems before I went).
The second facial was better. My service provider was much more knowledgeable than the first one. However appointments are hard to schedule and it is difficult to speak to the owner when there is an issue. I will not be returning.

I came to try this spa on a Groupon for 3 microdermabrasions after the good reviews here and I was not disappointed. The treatment was only half hour but Rachel was wonderful; in a short half hour, I receive a microderm (3 passes), a face mask, a scalp massage and finished with serums on top (all Pure and Simple products). The scalp massage was amazing! I actually managed to drift off to sleep even though it was only a half hour. I think next time I will book with another service along with it (maybe try one of their normal facials along with the microderm). I haven’t seen any visible results yet for the microderm but for a quick half hour treat, it was definitely worth it!
I will say that this spa where for me personally, I love the vibe — cozy, friendly, very casual and sociable may not be for everyone. Although I knew it was in the same location as the yoga studio, I was surprised how much of the space is shared (the pedi and mani area is close to the main entrance for both the spa and the yoga studio so there can be a lot of foot traffic and lots of chatting on the yoga side). For me personally, I liked it, the spa felt very authentic and friendly and for the quality of the service I felt I received from Rachel, it was worth it!

OM Spa offers a warm and friendly environment from the moment you arrive until ypu leave. The staff are very perfessional and offer wonderful services. I will often take advantage of their facial specials which happens to be the best facials I have ever had.
I’m happy knowing that my skin will benifit from the attention it receives from Rachel, but the real bonus for me is the wonderful shoulder neck and head massage that is so delicious. I look forward to my next one!

I’ve been to many salons and spas to get my nails done, but none have WOW’d me as much as OM Spa! I had a shellac manicure with french tips done by Rachel and I am beyond happy with the wonderful service that I received. I would normally get fake nails done at other locations but this time I decided to grow my nails out and do the shellac manicure. With that being said, I wasn’t sure how different it would be but Rachel explained everything throroughly step by step. She also made sure I liked the line of the french tips which was really reassuring that I my thoughts and opinions were acknowledged. My nails turned out so well that everyone that complimented me on my nails thought they were fake nails! I’m am totally happy and pleased with my nails!
Also, when you go back to OM Spa to remove the shellac manicure that they did, if you want another change of colour… they don’t charge for the removal! I will definitely be going back and recommend this place!!! :)

This was my second visit to the Spa and I’m writing this while constantly touching my face cause my skin feels super clean and smooth. I brought 2 friends for Express On the Go facials. They were short on staff today, so 2 of us got the facial, while the other person waited. This sort of sucked, cause it left one person out. This facial is very basic. It involves a hydrating mask, mini massage on the neck and scalp and an «oxygen treatment» which apparently helps the oils to penetrate deeper. This was probably not their best facial option, but I chose it for the price ($ 44 on Saturdays). It’s only 30 min and the massage is very minimal. Next time I will try an exfoliation facial even if it means that will have to pay over $ 75. After the facial we sat down and chatted while watching the people come in for the Yoga classes. This place is popular apparently. Last, but not least I want to mention that I got my eyebrows threaded, which was pain free and precise. I give this place 4 stars for the atmosphere, using Pure and Simple products and the great staff who greet you with big smiles and offer you drinks prior to the treatment.

I was here a little over a week ago for eyelash extensions. It was my first time ever getting eyelash extensions but not my friends first. I chose this place because of the positive reviews but now I realize that none of them are about their eyelash extensions service. I’m completely shocked at how poor the quality is. I might as well stick with fake lashes. For $ 100+, I was expecting it to last around 3 weeks like other places my friend has gone to. But no, after a day they started falling out constantly even when I waited 24 hours to wash my face. Also, I did not use any eye makeup and my friend almost never wears makeup let alone eye makeup, and I avoided rubbing my eyes. Still, every morning my friend and I woke up with eyelash extensions all over our faces, most of the time without any real lashes attached. So by now we have no eyelash extensions left. If you search online for other reviews, I don’t think there’s a place as bad as this when they are charging $ 100+! I’m definitely never coming back here, especially since I spent a good 3 hours on travel time to go there. Ontop of that, they were unwilling to offer my friend and I a refund.
I had to walk around with weird uneven eyelashes after just 5 days getting the extensions. My friend experienced almost the same as me, but hers fell out even quicker. It’s outrageous that they would only offer me $ 30 for a quickie but then after my friend was offered a free refill. However, we have no confidence in OmSpa to go back. They lack service and accountability. OmSpa does not guarantee satisfaction! Avoid OmSpa for extensions if you want them to even last over 5 days! Try many of the other spas offering eyelash extensions because they will last you 3 weeks.

I just came back from my first microdermabrasion treatment with Rachel. I had to get on Unilocal and write a rave review. This woman is amazing. I am trying to get rid of some recent acne scarring, so I have a few more sessions left to go. I can already sense this is going to be amazing. Honestly, my skin looked way better after this treatment than anywhere else. Rachel really had a thorough look at my skin right off the bat. She asked me detailed questions about my skin concerns, current issues, and what kind of products I respond best/​worst to. She really customized the process for me. I had the 3 passes of microdermabrasion (a nice strong one!), followed by a scalp massage and a million different amazing topical creams, a cucumber mask and some silky serums. My skin was glowing afterwards and I didn’t need a touch of makeup all day. Seriously, go here and see Rachel. She has magic hands!

This spa is truly a hidden gem in Thornhill! I was looking to get a good massage done by a decent RMT in the area and came across this one on Unilocal.The great reviews truly spoke about the exceptional service that OM Spa provides to its clients. Even prior to the appointment, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful over the phone answering all the questions I had regarding the services that they provide. Arriving a few minutes late for my appointment, my bf and I were welcomed immediately and they did not even rush us to take off our coats. They politely showed where to hang our coats and where the washroom was just in case we needed to use it.
Thereafter, I was taken into the massage room where Mark (a truly excellent RMT) did an overall assesment of my health and asked what areas I wanted him to work on. I was pretty impressed because this was my first time having a male for a massage therapist. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and even provided some holistic healing tips on how to cure some of the symptoms I had been experiencing the past few months. It was probably one of the best massages I had ever received and I highly recommend Mark if you’re looking for pure relaxation and therapy!
The spa is shared with the Moksha Yoga studio and provides you with a warm and cozy feeling with its ambience.
Overall, it was a great experience received by all that worked there and I definitely want to go back to try their other services.

Now I haven’t been visited many spas — but Om wins me over on so many levels — but for me they really are tops for their level of service, quality and ease of access.
I have been doing monthly facials here since June 2014, so I can feel pretty assured in saying that this place is one of the best I have ever been to.
I have done the urban renewal and super hydrating facials, and I have been pretty relaxed and mellow after each facial.
I love the fact that they use Pure + Simple facial products, and they don’t really try and sell you products unless you express an interest in one particular product yourself. Plus, they do steer you away from services or products if they don’t think they are right for you.
I am also a fan of how they send you a courtesy email reminder two days before your appointment, so you don’t forget. Also if they do end up having a scheduling conflict they do let you know right away as well as give you alternative appointment dates ready, so you are able to rebook pretty much immediately.
The staff at Om pretty much check all the boxes for me in terms of super star service and anytime you see other clients coming in, you can’t help but notice that all the clients coming in are all fans of the staff and how friendly they all are.

I came here for my first microdermabrasion facial and it was fabulous. My technician was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about my skin type and answered all of my questions. She also suggested different products that I could buy. The spa was really nice and clean. The staff were also very welcoming. I will definitely be back to try other services. :)

Today I went for my first ever massage!
I was gifted a
gift card and chose this location for a 60 minute Relaxation Massage.
I had the aesthetician Rachel and told her it was my first massage experience. She made me feel really comfortable and did not cut my hour short despite us starting late (my fault). I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to come back for more spa services in the future.
They have a different spa service special everyday of the week and this is inside a Moksha Yoga studio so it’s a perfect treat after a sweat session!
