Eddy’s Steak House

Unilocal you are not up to date! Eddy’s has been closed for a few years now! Two other restaurants have been there for quite awhile!!!

E GAD, the server was the rudest man I’ve ever encountered!
Six of us saw their online menu and thought it was a burger joint, with dishes starting at $ 7. We showed up to a dated french dining restaurant, with dimmed lights and complimentary wheel chairs. This outrageous menu has a vegetable stir fry for $ 20! «It comes with rice», it says… and chicken is an extra $ 8. Obscene!
Our server yelled at us! My friend was not hungry so she was going to share a 4-​course meal with another person. The server immediately yelled, in the middle of this «classy» joint, «NO SHARING!» Then when she tried to order an onion soup with no main dish as an alternative, he repeatedly rebuked her order: «You cannot do that! You have to order a main course!» He says it will be bad for business — what kind of reasoning is that?!?
After we argued for a few minutes with the server, my boyfriend confronted the man: «Frankly you have been extremely rude and we’ve done nothing to deserve this experience.» He angrily stormed off without confirming our order. Angry and confused, we immediately began discussing whether to just pay for the wine and walk out.
In less than 2 MINUTES, the kitchen delivered FOUR ONION SOUPS. It was not piping hot and extremely salty… did it even do its time in the microwave??? At that point, he gave us these glares, and we were socially binded to our seats, not allowed to reject the meal. When the appitizers came, he hovered over our table to ENSURE we did not share food.
POINT: to demonstrate to potential diners, that this restaurant is operated by an ABSOLUTELY INSANE MAN.
To the quality of food: to be fair, we were «warmly welcomed to our table» with a HUGE basket, like 25 thick slices of buttered garlic toast, with 3 huge bowls of tuna spread, egg salad spread and extra butter (delicious!) But the appitizers we actually paid for were weak: $ 5.50 for sauceed mushrooms that looked like they just dumped a styrofoam packet of white caps into a broiler, served on dated china. $ 7.50 for salads you’d compare with McDonald’s.
Quality of fix pris menu: steaks are not well temperatured. One of the medium-​rare was cooked through but my friend didn’t want to reject it, fearing reprimendation. Ribs were cooked through and dry. Of 5 main courses, my boyfriend has the most properly cooked steak.
Half way through the night we sensed heavy remourse from the server for his rude behaviour. He kept coming back with utencils for us to share our meal with, right down to deserts. But then those brownie points were lost again when our take-​out ribs were wrapped in tin foil and thrown into a brown doggie bag, scrunched at the top and literally, TOSSED onto the table. You should picture a cartoon «plop» sound with this image.

Great local business. Great value. I recently had the filet mignon med. rare which was done perfectly. Service is always good, nice quiet place
