So impressed with this place I can’t speak volumes enough. I showed up here at 1:30 pm on a Saturday. The place closes at 1:00pm however I had no clue and really should pay more attention to these kind of details by googling the hours! Anyway… the woman working the counter mentioned she would help me out but was busy with some customers. As she was freed up she mentioned firstly I could talk English instead of French as she was Anglophone. I told her «Anglophone in Terrebonne»? It was one of the first times I’ve encountered this in my almost ten years of living here! She mentioned to me it was her family business and her son is the 7^th generation of Scottish immigrants. I asked how long her family has been here and she replied around 350 years. Very cool I was thinking!
Anyway… Back to my story. I came here in search of some grass seed as it’s an ongoing experiment the fact that my lawn is not the nicest on the block. I explained my situation about the area where my dog was digging and I’m trying to make look nicer. Her reply was just buy some sod rolls. «Way faster than seed» was her response. At $ 3.50 a piece it’s way faster and better than seed that would take a year and a half to grow to maturity. Secondly I asked her for advice about fertilizing my lawn and adding lime. She then went through a series of questions by asking how much sq. feet I had. She made some calculations and showed me exactly how much I need to fertilize (every three weeks) and when was the best time. She also said keep doing it till end of October. I was thinking wow. What great free advice. Her response was «I’ve been in the business for 32 years». I’ve been wanting to come improve my lawn for years and I’ve found my salvation and free advice. On the wall I noticed a bunch of businesses advertising their lawn services. Mary Ann who was the owner serving me said they sell product to 200 – 300 different lawn guys.
She could have sold me stuff I don’t need but the advice given will keep me coming back and referring many others. If you want lawn products, seed or grass fertilizer Gazzonerie Alexander is the place to come. I left with a big 50 lb bag of fertilizer and three bags of lime plus some great advice that will hopefully have my grass emerald green! Thanks. Mary Ann. So greatly appreciated!
