Specialties
The Yoshukai International Karate School in Surrey offers a variety of programs for students including Evening Programs and our After School Karate Program (the awesome alternative to traditional after school care). Our After School Karate Program buses pick up at all the Cloverdale/Clayton area elementary schools and return the children to our karate school for their karate class. Our buses are all inspected every 6 months under the CVI program, every seat has a seat belt and our drivers are all current transit drivers. Our After School Karate Program has two classes; one for grades 1 – 3 and one for grades 4 – 7.
Each of our Evening Program classes is designed to provide the best martial arts learning environment for that specific age group. To increase our teaching effectiveness we offer one of the smallest age ranges for each of our children’s classes (e.g. 4.5−5 yrs., 6 – 8 yrs, 9 – 10 yrs, 11 – 13 yrs. and 14+ yrs).
History
Established in 1993.
Our school or dojo got started as a small club that met twice a week in a small community hall. We outgrew the hall and moved into a local secondary school until we moved into a full time rental location. Finally we settled in our own buidling just a few blocks away from our last location. Our school has consistanlty grown since 1993 into one of the largest and well respected karate schools in BC.
We also offer two other locations in BC; Aldergrove and Queensborough.
