Tim Horton’s is probably a first stop for any American entering Canadian soil. Not gonna lie, I’m usually pretty boring… I go straight for the black coffee. But man, the black coffee from horton’s always is the smoothest, I just can’t get enough of it. Pastries I got this time: Nutella filled donut. All I’m gonna say is… oh my God.

always amazed how busy it is here even late at night; in vancouver, i expect it with more ppl, always hard to find a spot. Do like how they seem to be more generous w/the toppings. I carefully watch them make my Coffee Lovers, and just before they put the lid on, ask for extra caramel ;) free parking here. but do come early, the ice cream side seems to be closed earlier.

You can’t complain much when this Tim Hortons/Coldstone is open for 24 hours… but service is inconsistent here, so please beware. We came here around midnight where an idiotic older lady helped with our order. Wanted a simple milkshake and she said she could do that with confidence. She proceeded to put ONLY vanilla iec(yes i was watching) in a blender, didn’t turn on the blender, AND served it in a cup. So I thought…“this is not a milkshake” as I couldn’t even get the«milkshake» through the straw. So the conversation with the lady went like this: Um, this doesn’t look like a milkshake and it is not. Oh, it’s just a really hard milkshake! It’s like that! No it isnt! Did you even put milk or anything in it? Do you know how to make a milkshake? Isn’t there some kind of recipe on how to make one? No, that’s just the way a milkshake is. It’s like that.(I don’t think she has ever tried a milkshake in her life. sad :() Omg…no, i can’t have this. I can make something else if you want. At this point I’m just over it. I could not comprehend… Anyway She could’ve just told us that she wasn’t properly trained… anyway I went home with the vanilla ice cream in the cup and made my own milkshake in the kitchen. lol Came back on another day and asked someone on a different shift if she can make one. «I can’t, I haven’t been properly trained» At least she was honest :) Thankfully there was another lady who was able to make one right. and turned out pretty good!

OK, this is a protest review. If a Tim Hortons anywhere is a 5 then Unilocal’s scale is seriously broken. Please, people… they don’t even bake their stuff on site. It’s trucked in frozen from Toronto. Have you ever been to a real bakery? At best, Timmy’s is a 2… although I have seen someone on Unilocal give Mickey D’s a 5. Simply unbelievable. There should be a special category for reviewers that have never eaten real food. Maybe with a Coldstone TH could make it to a 3 but I really doubt it. If you want some real ice cream, go find a good gelato place. Fast food is a chemical imitation of the real thing. Please try some of the authentic stuff… it does exist out there. But you won’t find it in a place where you have to use your teeth to roll up the rim of a paper coffee cup to win a prize.

It’s open 24 hrs and right next to Mirage nightclub so you get alot of the post-club crowd after midnight. As it’s the only spot open late and it’s located in the heart of Guildford, it’s pretty much the place to be post-anything. A large seating area plus the new addition of Coldstone Creamery and it’s close proximity to Pearl Fever and McDonald’s make it the ideal spot for idle nights.
