The Loft Pub

The new management has done an amazing job getting this pub back on track. A great patio with all new furniture, great TVs and a $ 4 breakfast that’s worth double that. A big thumbs up.

These are apparently the same owner’s of this establishment when it was called The Loft before. On the upside, they didn’t bring back the nook and cranny bandstand and dance floor (?) in the walkway. On the downside, they brought back what appears to be the same half circle booths they had before. This venue clearly can’t decide whether it is a cut rate White Spot or a cut rate pub. There is no focal point in the room. Why did they touch it? Under its last incarnation as Bogy’s the best use of the space was made with a bandstand and spacious dance floor on the east wall. Someone with the money to hire a decorator and a good contractor needs to deal with the layout of this place once and for all the stop relying on their husband, wife, sister, brother, mother, father to do it — because nothing is changing for the better. The current owner needs to give their head a shake, in the lady’s washroom the toilet paper dispenser which you assume is full is immediately to your right but empty. Yes, that’s right, it is empty. As you freak out, you glance around and notice… ah yes, some brilliant person decided to mount a new dispenser to the wall to the rear and left of the toilet. If you tip a cheek, balance carefully and have a long enough arm you can just about reach it and it is full of toilet paper — thank goodness! Not impressed. I’ve waited long enough for someone to get it right in this location only to see someone get it wrong and wrong’er (new word)!
