Nando’s was founded in South Africa by 2 guys back in 1987. Their idea to butterfly and baste chicken with a Chilli sauce(or PERi-PERi as it became known) on an open flame took off. Very nice restaurant and clean. No one else was at this location when I walked in. There’s no menu board so I had to ask her for a menu. Ordered takeout and hung around. Then decided to order some Portuguese tarts which were displayed at the counter. When I asked her, she didn’t seem to know what they were and I eventually had to point to the display. I took the ½ chicken home and the flavor was good. It could have been spicier but I had erred on the side of caution and ordered medium. The breast wasn’t dry. Portuguese tarts: pastry was chewy. The filling was way too sweet. I might return but the service experience was disjointed. I would get their marinades and basting sauces because they are made from 100% natural ingredients. So NO added preservatives, MSG, flavourants or colourants.

Really good chicken and friendly service. Big portions– just wait until you see what an order of fries looks like. A group of 6 of us came in right before they closed and they didn’t mind and served us fresh chicken. They didn’t bother us to leave and just cleaned up around us. Free parking out front is an added bonus. We will be coming back for that delicious chicken!

We ordered dinner from this location. As my daughter was eating, she found a finger nail. It would have been bad enough if she had found it on her plate, but it was mixed in with the chicken and was in her mouth. I have never been so angry and disgusted. I will be calling the health department in the morning.

One of the rare Nando’s that offer delivery, only the West Van location does. And they offer free wifi too. good size store, and the feel of this in White Rock, makes it that much more tranquil. Entrance located away from the main road. free parking. friendly service.

I went for the second time last night with my wife. The people are so friendly and helpful. It was clear we weren’t really sure what we were doing or what we wanted to order, so the guys offered to help walk us through the menu, asked us questions about spice preference, gave recommendations etc. And it’s not like it was a waiter/waitress doing this, these guys were at the counter. I was impressed. I had the chicken pita(hot) with the peri fries as a side, and my wife got the caesar salad(the small size) with medium spice chicken. We also had a little bag of peri spiced nuts. My pita was delicious. I complained at first that all the chicken was at the back/bottom of the pita, but really it’s kind of brilliant… otherwise how else would I eat my vegetables. The fries were so very tasty. Just the little bit of spice was great when we dipped them in ketchup. I’d risk saying they are my favorite fries in the area. My wife’s salad, for being a small size, was a good size portion, definitely enough for a meal. The medium spice chicken tasted perfect with the caesar dressing. And the nuts(which I just finished) were awesome! Spicy, but not too spicy(though I like a healthy amount of spice), and very tasty! I’d highly recommend getting these. We’ll definitely be heading back to Nando’s!

Convenient location and good service. Portions could be bigger and alcohol should be take out as well. Only allowed to drink if you sit in unfortunately. Peri peri sauce is the best over your chicken and rice too. We at times just buy the bottles and marinate our own chicken and BBQ it after. Tasty.

Honestly — they’d get 4 Stars from me if they didn’t serve such pathetically small pieces of chicken… Nice place to bring your family. Owners are friendly.

Move over chicken! There is a whole lot more in store. Nando’s is now packed with options for everyone. From chicken to salads to even hummus and pita! It’s fantastic! And everything has its own little peri peri kick to it! A tried and true favorite of mine includes the peri peri rice — mix it up with a little sour cream and some hot sauce and your taste buds will be begging for more! This place is great for take-out and also great for big groups with a spacious and well décor-ed interior!
