Cleaning Ladies with Mops

Extremely unprofessional manager. She posts on Craigslist ads under the Household section, I believe she goes by the alias «Donna» now, but pretty sure based on the descriptions of the other reviewers, she’s the same person as «Daphne Jackson».
Very rude and terse in her responses, «Donna» clearly does not understand the meaning of customer service. In addition, extremely inflexible in terms of pretty much anything — she hires freelance cleaners and does no vetting or training of any kind. She essentially adds little value as a middle man, she just finds random cleaning ladies and pawns them off to whoever hires her services. Sometimes the cleaners do a decent job, sometimes they are terrible. No consistency.
She does nothing for the cleaners other than arrange appointments — she refuses to provide any supplies which means the cleaners usually come with weak handheld vacuums, she refuses to provide any form of change for payment so either you have exact or you have to tip more than you wanted to. The only thing she does is look at a calendar and if there is an opening for your time, she slots you in without considering whether or not the cleaners can make it in time (which means they are often late).
After a few months of hiring her cleaners, I decided to change providers because of many reasons but she was very rude when I tried to cancel an appointment. She attempted to charge me a «cancellation fee», which I refused to pay because this was not agreed beforehand, not to mention no other cleaning companies have ever charged me a fee like that. She then rudely dropped me as a client, which of course I don’t mind since she’s terrible.
I just feel sorry for the cleaners who work for her because they seem to be largely unaffiliated with her other than the fact that she kind of «hired» them, and they have to suffer the consequences of her unprofessionalism.
DO NOT HIRE THIS SERVICE OR THIS LADY.

Disappointed that after 4 hours of cleaning the toilet seat was not touched, the light switches not wiped, the bathroom countertop still had grime.

I really wish that I had read these reviews before booking. I called and explained that my apartment is quite large (1200 sq ft.) and hadn’t had a professional clean in a long time. She asked me how many hours I’d like to book, I said that I don’t how long it takes these to clean a place, so I asked her to give me her professional opinion.
I booked 4 hours, and the result was a passable clean that left dirt in corners and messy countertops. I gave that feedback, she apologized and said that they tried.
Recently, someone has moved in with a dust allergy and she was having a bad reaction to the apartment, so I booked another appointment, but only for the dust, nothing else, so the time was again for 4 hours.
The result was worse than the last time. Around the tub is still filthy, and an entire room that I asked to be cleaned went untouched.
I sent the following feedback:
«The work wasn’t impressive. The basics weren’t done, but I asked them to focus primarily on dust and I found piles in corners still when I got home.
The purpose of my clean was an allergy to dust, so I don’t consider this to be a success.»
She suggested that I try someone else.
I’m very disappointed, and pretty angry that they now have $ 200 of my money and I’m stuck looking for another cleaner to come re-​clean my apartment.

Highly unprofessional from square one.
Called number listed in the ad, left a voicemail and shortly thereafter received a one line text message that read:
«Working til 9:30.how soon are you looking to get it done?»
Baffled, I replied asking who was messaging me, and received the following reply, no name or context given:
«I have two ladies tomarrow 1 to 2:30 for 60»
«total 3 hours»
Huh? I finally gathered this was about the message I’d left regarding cleaning service, and requested that whoever this was actually call me so that I might ask a few questions and discuss their service. I received a couple of terse replies stating the person was working until late and couldn’t call until late, but that they had availability the next day and asking for my home address and entry details. Since I still really had zero idea who I was conversing with, I insisted she call when she was free and told the person I wasn’t comfortable just giving out that information when I didn’t even have a name for who I was «speaking» with.
I eventually did receive a phone call (at 10:00pm-ish) from a «Daphne», who was short and seemed annoyed she was forced to call, but did arrange for cleaners to come to my home the following day at 1pm. I agreed, but as I felt pretty uneasy and sketched out by the whole exchange, at 8am the next morning messaged «Daphne» to cancel.
She then sent me, via email, a ‘cancellation fee’ invoice for $ 35. Needless to say: I’m not paying it.
Avoid.
ALSO: I’d take a look at the ‘Filtered’ reviews on this company. They all seem like legit complaints. I contacted Unilocal to ask why they’d been hidden, as they are worth a read.

Daphne Jackson of Cleaning Ladies With Mops routinely rips of her workers. When I started, we were all new. All of us have been ripped off and now, there is another set of workers who will get bit by this b*tch next.
Two weeks before Christmas, Daphne declared she could not pay any one. Most of us fell for her sob story and continued working. She still owes me almost two grand. I may be suing but, I know most haven’t and I understand. It’s a slow and difficult process and, they don’t always rule in the workers favour. So, Daphne has gotten away with thousands of dollars off of the backs of her workers with zero remorse and no end in sight.
Please, do not hire this woman/​company. She does hire out of parking lots, she will never, ever, EVER return an email, text or call. She won’t Honor coupons, deals or retribution for loss or damages. In fact, I called her out on being an indecent human being while begging for my money and, she promptly fired me AND my cleaning partner in the same breath. That’s how Honourable Daphne Jackson is.
I pray I never see her face again.

One of Daphne’s cleaners broke an item worth $ 400 during cleaning. She promised to send me insurance papers for a claim and never did, and won’t respond to emails. She advertises that she is insured «for peace of mind.» Not true.
