Dogs deserve a little more than a tiny little space to run and dog owners deserve more than the shittiest, rockiest part of the beach at the end of point no where. I’m surprised the reviews are all so positive, honestly, because I was a little disappointed that a) dogs aren’t allowed on crescent beach to begin with and b) they consider it a courtesy to send you basically to Seattle to let your dog run in a 20 foot beach space. It was a beautiful day, the dog had fun, but it was impossible to sit without bringing your own chairs(we didn’t, it’s a beach; the sand should be the best part), and standing up on rocks with a small baby for a long time kind of sucks so… thanks Blackie Spit, but no thanks.

Took my dog here for the first time today and we both had a blast! The dog off-leash beach area is for the most part fenced, your dog could wander off into the non-dogs sections of the beaches fairly easily but there is a fence and gate keeping them sealed from heading into the parking lot and into traffic so that’s what’s most important at least. The other patrons and their pooches on the beach were super friendly and pretty much all the dogs were well behaved as well. I went on a Saturday afternoon on a super hot day and surprisingly enough had no trouble finding parking in the main lot or a spot for my dog and I to settle into on the beach inside the fenced area as well. There were a fair amount of people there, probably 20 – 30 dogs at most but they all pretty much just stuck close by their owners and there’s enough room for everyone to play. We will definitely be returning to this spot!

my pug loves this sandy, open, off-leash dog park! they even have a seperate dog park where your dog can swim in the ocean. apart from some crazy dogs every once in a while, the crowd is fairly respectful and in the off season you can even walk your dog along the boardwalk. a great dog-friendly spot!

This seaside park in Crescent Beach was the perfect spot to walk on a windy fall day. From the park proper, we first let the dog run off a little steam in the big off-leash enclosure. It was dry, because South Surrey and White Rock never seems to get as much rain as Vancouver and North Vancouver. From there we walked down the beachside trail with whitecaps and windsurfers on one side, and gorgeous beachside cottages on the other. I was glad to be wearing a good windbreaker because a mighty wind blows in off Boundary Bay. This is a popular beach area in the summer, but it’s a good place for a flat, easy walk in the winter, too. You can go quite a ways along the trail, tracing the shoreline, or just a quick and out and back before dark.
