Average buffet. India kitchen does a better job at a lower price
Chicken was burnt, butter sauce salty. Goat curry was nice. Watch for the bones or love your dentist

One of my favorites because of their great variety of Veggie dishes. Love their Shahi Paneer, Karahi Paneer, Veggie Korma with Garlic Naan.
The spice level of food is Gora style, so go with hot or extra hour if you like spicy food. Ask for green salad with green chilli for some extra taste

We ordered Malai Kofta, Bhindi and Saag Paneer and all was delicious. The Bhindi was a bit over-​salted, but still very good. Onion naan bread was the best thing ever. The service was nice and unobtrusive. Not super cheap — we paid a bit over $ 40 for two.

Pretty good and authentic. Nice clean restaurant and the ambiance is nice for a romantic dinner anytime :)

The place was empty, which is a first bad sign. As other reviewers mention, the chicken dishes literally contained 3 or 4 small little pieces of chicken. The flavor was good but they still did not get the spice level right — everything seemed way too mild and although everyone has different taste buds, an authentic Indian restaurant will always have their food somewhat spicy. Will probably not come back with so many other options.

Been a here a few times but no more. Service is below average and the food is the same. Ordered a fish vindaloo and it had 3 pieces of fish in it. The butter chicken was pretty much the same 4 tiny pieces of chicken. I saw some of the other reviews/​pictures and they are bang on. There are to many other Indian food options in Surrey to come here. Don’t waste your time.

We ordered 50 $ of take out. The butter chicken was tasty when you could find it. We received 4 – 5 small pieces of chicken in each… I get more at my work cafeteria. It’s tasty but they will take advantage of you. Never going back.

I won’t ever be coming back to this. Service was simply awful. The waitress kept us waiting for more than an hour. She started speaking with an old friend. Very unprofessional and not mention she kept itching her hair with her hands. So unhygienic.
Food was terrible. It looked absolutely disgusting. so greasy and oily. It wasn’t even packaged properly. The sauce was dripping out from the sides of the container.
We ordered food for taken out and after reaching home, we noticed that there were only 3 – 4 pieces of chicken in the butter chicken and the rest was just thick gravy saice. (I have attached a picture) We weren’t impressed so we took the food immediately to ask for a refund. The manager was so rude and refused to refund. Such a rip off.

The food here is delicious. But they are also pricy. They have a good selection in the menu but I have not tried many items here. What I have tried I keep ordering often. The service is very good too. Parking is limited because it’s a popular business mall. You can only get into it from Whalley or 100Ave going west bound. I don’t have any complaints really except price. The naan bread is generous and the garlic naan bread is the best. The butter chicken is above average but not the best version of it.

I was a regular customer of this restaurant until my recent visit. Went here with some family and even made reservations. However, I’ve never had such bad customer service. It took us one and a half hours to get our food. We had to keep asking if how much longer for the food (politely) and they kept saying its on the way (never a reason why). We also noticed 3 tables who were served before us with all their food. All those 3 tables came in after us. It came to the point one of us had to complain to the manager. 5 minutes after, our orders came out. By the time our meal came out, those other tables were finishing up their meals. At the end of our meal we even found a hair in our butter chicken. They tried to compensate with free dessert, but we were too upset and short on time by then. I don’t usually complain and don’t expect a free meal, but wish they were honest with us as to why they were delayed with our orders. Whatever the reason, 1.5 hours to get your food is unacceptable and serving other tables first that came in after you is also unacceptable. It takes one experience like this to lose a regular customer.

Have been coming here for 9 years now and it’s the best every time! Love their pakora platter. Thanks for the great food and excellent service!

I’ve been a semi-​regular at Taste of Punjab for a few years now. While I’ve never been blown away by any aspect of the restaurant, I used to consider it a convenient place for Indian cuisine whenever I was in the neighborhood visiting family. After a couple of sub-​par experiences, however, I think it’s time to move on.
The food is average. The tandoori can be a little dry, but I’ve always enjoyed the korma here, their variety platter has plenty of tasty options, and they always make it just as spicy (or mild) as I like. No complaints on this score.
The drinks are a little pricey. My dinner companion ordered a miniscule (but $ 7) glass of house red, for instance, that turned out to be absolutely un-​drinkable. I won’t specify the brand, but it currently goes for $ 32 per 4L at the BC Liquor Store. A house wine offering this shabby suggests to me that Taste of Punjab’s in-​house dining experience has not been fully thought through. Speaking of which.. .
Where Taste of Punjab has really gone downhill is the service. I don’t recognize any of the recent staff from my previous visits, so it’s entirely possible everyone is new. On our most recent visit, for instance, we were seated straightaway, but waited about 15 minutes for our drink order, and another 20 before it arrived! On my visit before that, our server had so much difficulty taking our order that I don’t think she had ever waited on a table before.
On both recent visits, however, I noticed a steady stream of server traffic catering to takeaway customers. Point taken.
I’ve had worse, but, given the number of Indian options Surrey has on offer, I just don’t see any reason to come back here.

Food is pretty good here. I love their chicken tikka masala. The service is what really needs to be improved. There is nothing wrong with timing or frequency of visits, but I find the waitresses attitude leaves something to be desired. They are expressionless at best, and almost snooty most of the time. It’s almost like they don’t want to be there. The seats also move when the person on the other side wiggles. Needless to say, being seated behind children makes for a shaky dinner. If the place is emptier, be sure to ask for a seat away from other people.

Aloo gobi was out of this world — best I’ve had in a very long time. Lamb korma also delicious! Service was good! Mango lassi was a little sweet.

Came here with my girlfriend.
We ordered two curries, butter chicken and the lamb korma, as well as an order of garlic naan and a veggie samosa.
The samosa came first (they asked our preference). Was very tasty. Not hot on the inside but was tasty none the less.
Took a while for the rest to arrive. About 15 min later after the samosa showed up.
The two curries looked and smelled great and was pleased with the portions.
We were taken aback by the amount of rice that arrived. One shallow half plate of rice for two people. It would’ve been just enough for one person.
I thought they would just do refill on rice so you don’t waste it.
When we finished the small amount of rice we asked for some more but I was again surprised when he waitress said it was an extra charge.
Good thing i ordered that extra samosa.

Live up the street and order take out most of the time. There sit down service is nothing special, they are pretty aloof and don’t seem to be interested in their clientele, just take the order and bring your food.
The food itself is pretty good, tons of vegetarian options!
We spend about $ 30 on 2 entrees, rice and naan and can eat it for 2 days straight.
They would get more stores if I didn’t feel like I was bothering them when I called to order…

Incredible service. They seem to instinctively know when we need anything at all. The food was terrible though and pretty unauthentic.
Anyway I’m going to give it another shot for lunch tomorrow to try their chicken rolls. I grew up eating Calcuttan street chicken rolls (which are beyond heavenly — they’re the God of chicken rolls in other words) and I’ve been dying to find some here in BC. This is first place I’ve found that serves them. More on that tomorrow.
Update: The chicken rolls were beyond terrible. I had to throw them away. They weren’t rolls in any way in fact they looked like burritos except absolutely unflavourful. Never going back.

Incredible service — friendly and sweet and warm and welcoming. Great prices — with rice included, the veg curries came in at under $ 10 each! And the flavours! The quality! The vegetables and beans! This was probably some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I don’t get out to surrey really ever but I will try to go here every time I do. Fantastic.
I’ve not tried dinner but I will — I hope — before long!

We went there for a bit of a celebration and honestly, the quality of the food seems to have gone down quite a bit. Disappointing. Not sure if the server was intentionally sarcastic, or just rude. Service was slow, at best.
The tikka masala tasted like tomato paste, the chana masala had an overpowering cinnamon flavour and decidedly uncooked quality. I’d give them two stars, but I know how it used to be when the Owner would stop by the table for a chat. I know that there is a soul in this restaurant… maybe it’s just on vacation?
