A & W

As there was a massive power outage in the Lower Mainland, this left limited options for people especially in the North Surrey area. We originally wanted to go to the North Burnaby location, but it was closed due to the power outage. We ended up here on our way running errands.
Who knew gas station/A&W restaurant can be so packed at 9am on a Sunday? Some savvy customers were charging their phones at the few outlets that are available.
Food seems more greasy than usual. Oil was all over the packaging. Coffee was pipping hot. The cream and sugar station, and the dining tables could use a good cleaning.
This place does the job to feed people at a
precarious time of no power for almost 22 plus hours for some homes.

3 stars because when I order root beer at a sit down A&W I want it in the frosted mug. They have the mug chiller where’s my frosted mug? Mama burger combo 5 bucks, burger was fresh good flavour fries where a mix of HOT and cold fries kinda of turned me off the fries. Who doesn’t order onion rings at A&W? Rings hot fresh very good. Annoying problem as I was the only one in the dining room I had to sit and listen to the person serving the counter talk to his co worker in their own language. Still better than rotten ronnies down the street.

Who would have known one would exist in an Esso gas station.
Even has a good size seating area that would rival some food courts LOL.
Drive thru open 24 hours.
