I’ve been here numerous times and haven’t seen the A&W Bear once! If he’s not there, then who is running this place? I mean maybe he’s stuck in the back office filling out paperwork, but that’s unlikely since bears can’t write! I should also add that the hashbrowns are delicious.

Great food. Always love burgers at a&w, but this location is definitely outdated on the interior and even the exterior. Judging by the sign outside though this location is going up for sale soon so I guess won’t be around much longer.

On some level, the retro-branding voodoo of A&W is annoying — the black-and-white photos glued onto the walls of every outlet of the chain get under my skin for some reason. But then again, I do have dim recollections of Saturday afternoon trips to an A&W drive-in with my Dad and of owning an A&W Root Bear, so there’s some real behind the fakery that I can cling to. And then there’s the whole«Burger Family» confusion. Which one do I order if I just want a cheeseburger again? Ooh, Chubby Chicken is good. What saves my bacon is having the coupons — like the one on my last visit, good for a Dad Burger(double hamburger but you can get it with cheese, ah, things are starting to make sense) and onion rings for $ 5. A&W onion rings are so much better than their fries — I recommend spending the extra buck or so for those crispy deep-fried rings of wonder. I also love that the drinks still come in frosty mugs when you’re taking your order«for here» — so refreshing, yet eco-friendly.
