The 5 stars is for the pie!
I come from a pie making family. Meaning homemade crust, homemade filling and never using canned pumpkin. I had lunch here yesterday and had their pumpkin pie. I almost never get pie out because it is never as good as my own or my Mom’s at the grocery store or big restaurants. This is a hole in the wall small deli. It looks like they just have one pie per day available and they say everything is homemade and I believe them. This pumpkin pie may have beaten out even my Mom’s. But I do think they used whole milk or maybe even cream so that is why it seemed more creamy then ours made with 1% milk. The crust was perfect, very thin and tender but didn’t fall apart.
Go for the pie and rolls. The sandwiches are not much to write about. Choice of white or ‘brown’ bread and very basic meat choices, but it doesn’t matter the pie makes up for it all.
Wonderful to see the art of pie making is alive and well here in Canada.
