Waitresses are pleasant. Modern surroundings with a couple of TV screens. Fish tacos were good and salmon burger was good. Pasta hit the spot too. But, the men’s washroom is poorly designed. The urinal is in front of the toilet so when you sit you are facing the urinal. To make matters worse you have to step on the urine under the urinal in order to access the toilet. Then the soap dispenser is so small and unfortunately for me it was empty. So I go back to my table with dirty hands and sticky feet! Fail! Fish tacos were good though.

Food was great, a little pricey and service was fantastic. Could not give them a higher rating as they don’t take reservations, even for larger groups and expect larger groups to wait 30 – 60 min until enough tables are«cleared»

A bunch of girlfriends were getting together and we wanted to try something new. We found this Resturant excellent. Not overly noisy as we wanted to be able to chat and not yell at each other. The booths were wide and could comfortably fit 6 people. The food was good. I personally had a Steak sandwich with jalapeño mash which was to die for. Which I eat my steak rare and was not over cooked at all!!! Service was fast and friendly. Always on top of our drinks and getting lemon water. The waitress didn’t impose or ask millions of questions either. Great service and money spent well. Will definitely come back again

I had been here once before and was pleased. It has the same menu as Original Joes but a different setting. This time My and I came back with our kids and it was a pleasant experience. It’s nice to have more kid friendly restaurants in Sherwood Park. Something that is lacking in this town. All table settings are high top tables or booths so if you bring a child needing a high chair, you better not come. Booster seats only. They don’t have a kids menu which is kinda weird but whatever. If you want your kids to be occupied before food arrives I suggest you bring your own time wasting toys. They don’t give out coloring sheets or anything. The food is what I would expect from an OJs sister restaurant. Good portions and good eats. The service was good and the overall experience was good. I’ll definitely head back here again.

Bad service killed the review. Food is OK but our server abandoned us for about 30 minutes. It would have been longer but I hunted her down. Could have sold us desert, coffee and perhaps a digestive, hard to do when you are hiding.

It’s no secret that I love State & Main. My co-workers asked where I wanted to go for my birthday lunch and I had a real craving for the dill dip… so off we went! I was a little concerned because we didn’t decide on our destination until noon, and our office is on the West end of Sherwood Park, so I was worried that we wouldn’t have enough time. But my worrying was for nothing… the service was on point and the timing was much better than I anticipated. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and shown to a table. The seating is incredibly comfortable and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Here’s the funny part… I usually get the steak sandwich at State & Main, and am never disappointed with my choice. But today I decided I didn’t want so much food and opted for the French Dip, assuming it would be a little smaller. WRONG. This was the biggest sandwich I’ve ever seen. But also one of the tastiest. The meat was still juicy and tender, the bun was not dried out and the au jus was FULL of flavour! yum. Do I even need to go into how delicious the fries and dill dip were? I think everyone has experienced them by now… if not, you should. One of my colleagues had never tried it until today, and she admitted that it changed her life. My other colleague who was with us is on a very specific meal plan while she prepares for a competition in May. She’s been to OJ’s many times in the past and they can usually accommodate her there, so she hoped for the same at State & Main. She asked if she could just get a chicken breast, some rice, and a side of veggies. The waitress was very understanding and made some recommendations of ways she could be accommodated and the meal she ended up with was delicious and fully on plan. This is definitely our new«go-to» lunch spot — we all left incredibly satisfied. The only reason I took away a star was because the waitress took my plates away to pack up my leftovers, but did not pack up my dill dip. okay… so there was only like 10 French fries left on my plate… but I definitely still wanted to take at least the dip!

Slow service & bland food. We came here thinking it would be «Wing Wednesday» but their wings are half price on Thursdays. The wings are small and bland. The Southgate location is way better– their servers are on point(never even had to ask for a refill) and the wings are huge! If you can, make your way to the Southgate location. It’s worth the drive.

State and Main is a new restaurant in the Park. It is much like Original Joes but it has a family side and a lounge. We made the mistake of sitting In a booth on the family side and were surrounded by crying misbehaved kids. We then went for a drink and a burger a few nights later and sat in the lounge … Much better. The waitress forgot about us for a very long time, but she was nice enough. The burger was bland and nothing I would order again. We also shared pretzel baguettes and they were good, just a bit over cooked. All in all we will go back to OJ’s in the future, the service is always good and they don’t allow children. State and main is simply Ok.

I know for a fact that Sherwood Park is pretty starved for decent and new places to eat, especially places that are family-friendly. While I am typically not a big fan of visiting«chain» restaurants, I am always up for a new experience, and I have heard some pretty positive things about State & Main. State & Main is like a «brother» to Original Joe’s — I believe it was dreamt up by the same people, their only difference being that they cater more towards a family-friendly atmosphere(but they do also have a «bar» adults-only side). The food is very similar and the menus are very similar. As you might know, food can vary from location to location — and I found the food here to be pretty good all though nothing mind blowing or super exceptional. We visited sometime in December, so the place was still a little bit new, and I think staffing and service is still being sorted out. Our server was very friendly, but a little disorganized and it took quite a long time to have waters refilled, beverages offered and to generally be well, «served.» In a city where, there aren’t a lot of options, State & Main offers pretty good food at pretty good prices. Let’s hope that other restaurants take note and we start seeing more development and options that provide a similar vibe and consistency.

I was excited to try State & Main since I had heard great things from people. Sure enough they did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and the drinks were good. Our waitress was friendly but a little bit overwhelmed it seemed. It reminds me of a slightly fancier, child friendly version of Original Joes as I find the menus are quite similar. I will definitely be back along with recommending it to friends.

Had dinner at state and main for the first time tonight and it was pretty good. When you come here with kids they do not have high chairs, only booster seats. It made me nervous having my 1 year old in a booster seat at a high booth, but at least it had straps, we just had to keep an eye on her. Our server was awesome, I felt very taken care of. Thank goodness she mentioned they have a kids menu because they don’t have it in writing, she had to tell us about it in person prior to ordering. We had the calamari which were probably the best calamari I have ever had. The highlight was the deep fried jalapeños. The bang bang shrimp were very good but could have been spicier. For my main I got the fish tacos. I don’t know how they managed to do it but the fish tasted micro waved and was spongy and flavourless. I left most of them behind. The salad that they came with was equally bland. Luckily for me I had filled up on appetizers. My wife got the beef dip which was very good, so I’m sure we will go back to get the calamari again and try different main courses.

I“ve tried other State and Main’s before so I had a pretty good idea what to expect and this Sherwood Park location did not let us down. It was busy the night we decided to try it out — just a few days after they opened — but we were seated quickly and the service was great. I had some issues with my order because I asked for the tomato and bacon soup, along with some gyoza instead of a full entrée. They brought me the gyoza and a very, very small cup of soup. I looked at the menu again and it said the soup came with bread etc. and it is $ 8. I asked the waitress about it and her response was«I wondered about that! I think they gave you the appetizer size» She quickly had it replaced and all was good, but I couldn’t help wonder why she didnt question it BEFORE she brought it to our table and I had to call her back to ask! Overall, it is a very nice new addition to the Sherwood Park food scene!
