Today I visited your Sherwood Park store. I’m a 52 year old male who owns several pairs of glasses. I probably have another 30 years of spectacle wearing life in front of me. I looked around the store and only after walking up to the counter did one of the retail staff even acknowledge my presence. I asked a simple question. I’ve heard that your glasses are made more cheaply than others. Is this true? The assistant responded by saying that if I wanted designer frames I should to West Edmonton. I replied by confirming that it was your frames that I was most interested in. I just needed some convincing. She looked confused and walked over to another assistant who had her back to us. The second assistant muttered something to the one I had been speaking with. The second assistant never even looked over. The assistant then walk back over to me and I said and I quote ‘she says it’s up to you if you buy or not’. The assistant then walked away and I was ignored until I left the store. This level of service is appalling. I will likely NEVER go into this store again. Btw — tried to register this complaint via their website and even that did not work properly.

Finally got the right lenses after a year long fight, frames on both pair were warped?(trust me that does not help vision) They act like they are doing you a favor to change their mistake! They put in the wrong prescription They said that was IT… no more service! An older gentleman come in while I was there and asked them to glue his lenses in, he was told they don’t do that, it was because the glasses he chose had a curve to them and the lenses are straight, just come back and they would be glad to put them back in for him. Why would any store sell glasses that the lenses won’t stay in? My son has curved glasses and his lenses stay in?

Today I went to Hakim Optical and had a fabulous time! I haven’t bought or wore glasses since 15 years ago when I was 13 years old when I then switched to contacts. So needless to say, I had no clue what I should be buying or what looked good on me. A lady named Jeanette approached me and helped me try on so many glasses! We went through all of them and she was quick to offer her opinion, but not overwhelming where it felt like I couldn’t make my own decisions :) She was fun and laid back… let me pick up all the glasses and wasn’t fussy on properly placing them back etc. I didn’t have to be paranoid about dropping them as she dropped more than I did haha! Very relaxed but professional atmosphere! After I picked out about twenty pair, we went and sat down and re tried them on to eliminate some… I then narrowed down to 8 and she kept them in a tray to put on hold for up to one week so I can come back with my husband to get a second opinion. Great place to shop at!
