This is my 3rd of 4th visit. I have to come every year to check out the new chocolates. I wish I lived closer so I could try everything! It all smells so good. The chocolate covered bananas and frozen cheesecakes are to die for! Their caramel apples always look amazing(though I haven’t tried one yet) and their other chocolates are amazing. YUM!

The other review on this upscale candy /chocolate shop says it all, but I’d like to contribute one more tidbit of information: the fudge is INCREDIBLE. Every year, my husband and I trek to Stratford for one crazy weekend of theatre, sightseeing, and upscale dining, and we always stop by the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for some fudge. They’ve got a table of fudge varities sitting near a front window, and I think that’s how they pull in the window-shoppers. Our favourites are mint chocolate and maple, but we’ve also sampled(and loved) the oreo chocolate, peanut butter(with delicious whole peanuts!), and marble varities. The top dollars you pay for the fudge is well worth it. The candy apples are also yummy, with every variety under the sun on display right as you walk in. The store offers a lot of individual goodies that you purchase based on quantity or weight, and they also have shelves lining the walls of pre-packaged, pre-sorted confections. The ONLY reason I’m giving this place 4 stars is because, while the fudge is worth the price, everything else is not. You will spend a LOT of money on very little portions, and, yes, the taste is good, but not as good as you’d expect for the price. You won’t be disappointed in the taste, but you will likely be disappointed by the receipt. Overall, TRYTHEFUDGE. :-)

You know the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory(think Gene Wilder, not Johnny Depp)? This place reminds me of the opening scene where the dude in the candy store goes all nuts singing about the candyman and throwing candy at all the kids. Simply put: This. Place. Is. Awesome. All sorts of candy bars(mostly just different varieties of chocolate), interesting«homemade» candies(like peanut butter cups and nut clusters), candy dipped apples, fresh made fudge… and on and on and on. Not to mention– it’s all GOOD. Except for the stuff I didn’t like, but… well, someone else must like it because it’s there. They also have seasonal candy. It’s October now, so they have HUGE jack-o-lantern chocolate things. I imagine near Easter they also do the traditional bunny. Thanksgiving yields chocolate turkeys. I don’t know why I find this fascinating, but I do. I wish I lived in Stratford just so I could come ever every holiday to get that holiday’s mascot in chocolate form. I can’t imagine walking in this place and not walking out with at LEAST $ 15 in candy. Maybe that’s not much to some, but it’s a lot to me… especially for just candy. Expensive? Yes… but damn well worth it. Maybe not always in size– but what they lack in quantity is more than made up for with quality… and sometimes that’s even better. If you’ve even got the slightest hint of a sweet tooth and find yourself in Stratford, you’re doing yourself a disservice by not checking this place out. You’ll also miss out on seeing the dudes who make(and pack!) the fudge during the day. Oh yeah, I went there. Really though… Go. NOW.
