This is a great old-​fashioned neighborhood tavern, complete with coppertop bars for old guys to hang over and nice old wooden tables for dinner – somewhat traditional tavern food but some great local craft beer, including black l lager Silversmith, which I loved. If you came to Stratford for hoity toity culture, this will not be your place — better for local-​gazing than star-​gazing. Friendly, and quite for great conversation. Ruth Klassen of famous Monforte Cheese has a table and I really enjoyed meeting her there
