There are 3 Sobeys in my general neighbourhood, and this one is the closest. For a very long time, I had a hard time checking into the store using Unilocal,from inside the store. Then, recently I discovered they have very efficient free wifi! BONUS!
This particular Sobeys, and the one on March Road in Kanata North are both franchises. The other one, on Hazeldean at Terry Fox is a Corporate store, so be warned — the specials do not necessarily run in every store, just because Sobeys advertises something is on sale! The reason being that the Corporation does not like to compete with the Franchises. At this location on Carp Road, they have an upstairs section with tables and chairs, where they hold events like children’s cooking classes. I believe they also offer some kind of summer camp for kids.
So what do I like about this store? I like the layout; the staff is friendly and helpful; but for me the big deal is their fresh fruit and vegetables, and the meats. Sobeys is not the cheapest store around, but sometimes you need really beautiful food, like around the holidays. The other thing I keep my eye on is organic fruit; sometimes it goes on sale and when it does so at a great price, I like to stock up. Sobeys also has a beautiful cheese department. And they sell absolutely beautiful cakes! For example, in the year of the 100^th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, Sobeys had this cake on display that was a work of wonder! It was ARTWORK! Just beautiful! Looking at the cakes on display is a highlight of my visit! Funny to say that for a grocery store… but worth it!
Also, there’s lots of parking in the private lot out front.

The staff at this location are second to none when it comes to customer service. Every single one is pleasant and helpful. Their meat is always excellent, and your satisfaction is guaranteed. The lunch counter makes AMAZING sandwiches and they have a huge cheese selection. They are also the only place I would buy a cake from, never disappointed, ever! So pleased to have such great service at such a convenient location!

This is a great store. I normally shop at Farm Boys (except for when I need toilette paper and cleaners etc that they don’t sell) but Sobeys has won me over with the Stittsville location. They have really fresh produce and an excellent variety of dry goods. The staff are always helpful and friendly. I don’t exactly live in the area but I drive through often so I plan my shopping accordingly.

This is a fantastic new grocery store in stittsville, it’s neat, clean, great staff — and here’s why.
They have a great veggie section as soon as you walk in the door, they have one of those great fresh orange juice machines (the lady is always super helpful and gives me girls samples all the time!) — they have a super helpful butcher around the next corners (they had prime rib on sale this fall — i ask for a special cut and they went back in and got the entire side for me at $ 2.99 lb)
The next corner is the seafood section — the girls love making faces at the fresh lobster tank, the bakery is next — fresh cupcakes are always popular with 6 year olds… lol
During the xmas holidays with your purchase of $ 50 or more you received various discounts…$ 10.00 giftcard, coconut shrimp was the next week.
It’s a franchise store and they are working hard

It’s a grocery store so I’m not gonna talk about that. It has a pharmacy and has lottery at this location. Lottery kiosk closes at 9pm which is dumb. Sobeys has their Sobeys club which is their rewards program. It allows you to get special deals and earn points. Also has a hot foods counter where you can order lunch combos and pizza. Their cakes are delicious and the ability to completely customize it or use one of their pre-​set themes is a plus.
Between Sobeys and Browns Your Independent Grocer, I’d chose the latter. Why? Lottery open as late as the store. The layout is way better and the staff is a lot more friendlier. Unless of course, I want a cake.
