Jumpin Jaks Subs & Grill

I’ll start off by saying that this place USED to be a favourite of mine, when I worked downtown a few years back. The guys that owned/​managed it then were always there and it was soooo good.
When I was there on August 24, 2010 I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I had talked the place up to the wife, who had never been there before. First impression when we walked in was that the prices had gone up a bit… but what hasn’t? The guy behind the counter made us wait a few minutes while he was finishing up something he was frying saying that he didn’t want to wash his hands again. At least he knows he needs to wash after touching cash. We placed an order for the fries with meat sauce and mozzarella cheese. When I used to order it on lunch breaks, it only cost about $ 4 and was big to share. This time, it was just disappointing. About half the fries from what they used to give you… plus the guy forgot to put the meat sauce on so it was just fries with freezing cold cheese sitting on top. I got the attention of someone else who was working there who put meat sauce on our orders, but it was basically just a drizzle and wasn’t warm enough to help melt the cheese.
I’m sure the subs are still as great as they used to be… but I’ll probably wait for more reviews about that before I go back.
