Neither of Hannelore’s stores are places you want to go into if you’re claustrophobic. However, if you’re like me and can(and do) easily spend an hour rooting through stacks and stacks of books in addition to all of those on the shelves, you can find some real treasures. The last time I was there I found a copy of Chairman Mao’s Little Red Book, as well as an out of print book I needed for my MA thesis(I’d actually spent that afternoon taking copious notes from a library copy before finding it at the St. Paul St. location). I wouldn’t hold your breath if you’re looking for semi-recent texts, unless they’re bestsellers, but generally speaking used bookstores in St. Catharines can be goldmines for hard to find or niche books.
